hmm that doesnt quite answer my question........ i have looked up stats and they all look pretty well the same is this spec oriented or what?

Backstab is only worth the energy if it crits. Otherwise, you would get much more use out SS or Hemo even if they don't crit.

Same concept applies to ambush. So why would you want to have a spec that is only good when you crit (a variable)?
You don't. You want to try and have as much control over your toons performance as possible, and relying on chance is subpar.

Non-daggers as well also will do more white damage, and when combined with attack speed effects, means a lot of damage that isn't reliant on those unreliable crits.
