I have been looking at my gear alot lately and I was wondering what the best way to improve my crit rating would be. I am working on getting my ce spell hit ring, so I could regem and when I do, should I put in all crit gems or do the crit/dmg gems? My armory is in my sig. Thanks for the help guys.

Well, you've done a nice job gemming to be +hit capped. You could regem with the nicer gems though. I'd get a +12 spell damage PvP gem, then get the bigger (read: more expensive) +spell hit gems and add some other +crit gems in there. There is also a PvP +spell crit gem that's yellow, I believe. You could get a bit of spell crit there. You could also replace the bloodgem with something from the heroic badges that gives more +crit rather than +hit. All this while trying to stay +hit capped, or close to it. You could also go with the blade from prince with the same spell damage enchant and go with an offhand with +crit or something around that.

HTH.

I have been trying to get the blade from prince, but for some odd reason, it won't drop:( I am going to get the spellstrike pants made which will put me over the cap and once I get the CE ring, I will be able to toss alot of crit gems in my gear. I am not much of a pvp'er, although I might respec to frost and grind out some honor in av this weekend.

Any particular reason why you gemmed everything to match the gem-slot bonus? I normally either put in veiled noble topaz or runed living rubies as the +spelldmg imo is worth more than the crit rating.

Not really sure why I matched for sockets. Should I have put in vnt's and then a ruby in each piece or what do you recommend?

Put in whichever where you need hit rating. Only time I'll not use one of the two is if the socket bonus will make up for damage or hit lost on the use of an inferior gem.

Or when I can put in an epic gem in the socket.

as in he has gear that doesn't give any crit and only spell dam. my mage has about 970 frost unbuffed and 28ish % crit, and almost all my gear gives spell crit and dam. my build is 40/0/21.

the mindmastery is giving you about 250-200 spell damage though.
