So, I decided I wanted my pet to be a bat, because I just love their looks, and the ability to dash.

So I went today to RFK in hopes to get a greater kraul bat, to my enormous surprise, Blind hunter spawned, aparently the rarest bat of all, and the only one besides a rare lvl 11 spawn bat, that is white.

So AMAZING! I tame it, and what do you know? It even has dive! the spell I wanted! I couldnt be happier.

All of a sudden the priest says he has to go, and so does the tank, so we call the run, and decide to die and rezz at GY because it was faster.

Once I rez, I realize my pet (Now named "Freddy", heh) doesnt have Dive on his hotbar, so I say "Ok, no big deal, I will just go to my spellbook and-".

But then I realized, the spell wasnt on the spellbook, I checked the pet tab and IT WASNT THERE, the ONLY thing there was Cower rank 3, and for one I am 100% sure I saw my bat have dive before I rezzed, and petopia confirms it, its not on my spellbook, its not on the hotbar, and its not in my "Pet Training" skill, so now I have to go inside RFK again, get another bat, and use dive 400000 times so I can learn it and teach it to my pet.

I have a ticket open right now, hoping GM answers and obviously gives me my skill back, but ATM, GG blizzard.

But I am level 29, and only the bats from RFK have dive, the lowest level with dive after those, are lvl 32 birds in Arathi, so at least 4-5 more hours of straight out leveling untill I can get a new one.

I DIDNT learn it, wich makes it that much wierder, used dive standing next to him and running with him (fearing being tagged as a melee hunter nub) about 15 times, never learned it, the GM responded to me told me BH is probably bugged, he told me to just get dive from any other dive teaching beast and teach it to him.

Also I just got out of ANOTHER RFK run, I was lucky enough for RH to spawn again, I took my odds and tamed him, he had dive again.

I dismissed him to jump down to escort, once I was down I called him again, and he had unlearned dive again, so Im confirming that ATM at least Blind Hunter is bugged... hes still f**kin awesome, but I will have to get dive from somewhere else, his new name is "Shikaka" (Kudos if you know where that from).

I think I found out(by logic) what the prob is.

Tamed a lvl 31 buzzard, with dive, used it once, and learned it. Wheres the prob?

Ok this is my theory and seems pretty factible: Since BH got lowered level from 32 to 26-27 (with patch 2.3 all azeroth instances got easier and lower leveled) he still had Dive, but since dive is a lvl 30 ability, he HAS it, but once you dismiss it the game knows it IS a lvl 30 ability, so he unlearns it, thats why You cant learn it from him either.

I never tried the OTHER bats, but they have dive too and are lvl 26 too, probably wouldve worked out the same way.

Dive is a level 30 ability so it will not be present when the pet is spawned after you die/log off etc.
You'll have to wait till you level the bat to 30 to teach it to him, there are plenty of bats under level 30 with the ability, you can even learn it from a bird too.

Tamed a buzzard from arathi, and teached dive to Shikaka, now he owns even more! ;D

he's definately a rare boss.
Never seen him in 15+ runs with various characters...
