From Raid Spec Fire to PVP Arcan/FrostFollow

So my guild has decided to drop raiding and go for PVP instead. For 61 lvls all I have done is spec for raiding and played full fire. (7/41/3 currently)

I read the great mage post and I like the 17/0/44 build for Arena's, but I'm not allowed to go with the guild until 70. (which I need for all the talents anyway) My question is, do I respec to arcane frost right now, so I can get some experience with it? Or do I stick with my current build to lvl to 70, then change my spec?

I don't know jack about PVP or PVP gear, but I have this feeling that I'm about to learn the hardway. I'll do my homework first, but what do you masters think about switching the specs now vs later.

I don't know squat about frost..except for the occasional frostbolt I've cast on accident.

I would switch over and get used to how the build works as it is a different style, at least for the last couple levels and run bgs as well.

Are you saying run Bg's now or a few levels before 70, when I re-spec?

Thanks Anobix, I have read your many posts and value your opinion.

I would wait until around 67/68/69 and respec and run some battlegrounds as you plan to do PvP as the difference in the build will take a little bit to get used to. You could probably do it at 69 if you put some time into runing BGs though, just do it after 66 when you will have ice lance.

Oh, and thank you for the compliment, I do what I can to help anyone out. :D

If you're getting pvp gear, you'll be grinding honor long enough to learn the spec. At least I did.
