I was dueling a lvl 54 Shaman for fun in gadgetzan and he was so frustated cause I managed to drop him to half health through the use of Charge, pummel and intercept and believe me he was suprised.

I stopped his heals and Chain lightning 7 times in 1 fight. (someone brought it up that it might have been Lightning bolt. I was pretty sure I read Chain lightning but just for accuracy sakes I'll put the disclaimer =D)

I also found that shield bash seems to work well against 70s. Even at lvl 42. =D

A 70 shaman attacked the totem that shaman i was dueling dropped, and the guards started tearing into him. He just sat there and healed over and over. I don't know if he was bored and wanted to see how long he lasted but i decided to equip my shield and walk up to him during this fight. I waited until his heal as about to complete and he was down to a sliver of health and shield bashed him.

he died. I died. Me and the other shaman had a good laugh. The guy rezed and then hit me with chain lightning. thus causing the guards to attack him again. so I repeated process.

Needless to say I got him killed 3 times in this place due to his stupidity and interrupts =D

I am so ready for it already. =D but it is still awesome being able to keep a 54 down and unable to cast due to these moves. =D

Just a side question but why would a Shaman in a duel choose to use Chain Lightning instead of Lightning Bolt? I am pretty sure that when you are dealing with a single target, Lightning Bolt does more damage for less mana. Is there something I don't know about Chain Lightning used on single targets?

I have no idea. I just know thats what I thought I was reading in his cast bar that I was watching intently to stop the cast.

I don't know about shamans. I do believe that's what I read in the cast bar that I was watching so intently to ensure the interrupt stopped him from doing it. Ill add a disclaimer just incase iwas mistaken by spell name. I think he might have just been showing off. Or at least trying to =D

Chain lightening has a shorter cast time if memory serves. Mostly used cause it's harder to interrupt.

As of patch 2.3, CL is 2 sec cast (upgradable to 1.5) and LB is 2.5 sec cast (upgradable to 2). Chain Lightning does more damage than Lightning Bolt, but costs more.

This might not be the case for a level 54... They could've gotten a new LB rank at 54 but still have a several levels old CL, with max ranks this is the case however.

Thanks for the Chain Lightning answers. I hadn't considered cast time. :)
