Sh. Weaving and/or Sh. Pwr. and/or MiseryFollow

#1 Dec 20 2007 at 5:45 AM Rating: Decent
Hello,

Sorry for the newbie-type question. I am quite new in WoW but have managed to get to lvl 52 quite quickly so far playing as a shadowpriest. I play both pve, pvp having/planning to have quite standard build 17/0/44. There are not enough talents though :) So I have to decide how I distribute 10 of them to SHADOW WEAVING and/or SHADOW POWER and/or MISERY.

So basically I have to sacrifice one of those. It looks, so far, it is going to be Sh. Pwr., despite the fact I have had it already and find it quite useful in PvP.

Thanks!

That's a really tough question. I'm specced into all three, but I'd have to agree with you that if you HAVE to eliminate one of the three, it should be shadow power, as it only effects your MB and SW:D. It also only increases your CHANCE to crit.

Shadow weaving will endear you to any locks you group or instance with, and Misery is a guaranteed increase to damage for ALL of your shadow spells, not just two. Personally, I'll take a guaranteed increase in damage over a better chance to crit any day.

Hope this helps! Have fun!

i take all three, because i don't use silence in raids and shadow reach sucks because 24 yards (rather than 20 yards) is still in range of most AoE:

I am almost to your level on my priest.
Would not bother with Shadow Power, because critical strikes have never been reliable to me-- it's just something extra that's nice when it happens, but can be a waste unless you have a really high percentage of occurring.

I get +6 yards.
This is best if you are chasing down someone; I like to DOT as I am running. Or, if you are soloing/questing, you can get off one or two spells before you are in melee range.

He was talking about raids there: In pvp u'd want silence and while leveling shadow reach is pretty much normal aswell :P

Anyways, since I like both pvp and pve and I don't want to ***** my arena-team's rating im specced into silence, 5/5 SW, 2/2 Shadow Reach and 0/5 Shadow Power.
If you want a pure raiding build and got a decent amount of spellhit, 5/5 Shadow Power is nice to squeeze out some more dps, but until you get to the point where every single dps counts it's not worth it.
