these 2 seals seem to do roughly the same sort of thing, is there any point in using SoR if u have SoC since the later can crit and the former can't?
if you are tanking something id use SoR, other than that nope. SoC all the way.
edit: oh, and as long as you have a suitably slow *** weapon.

weap speed <3 sec = SOR
weap speed >3 sec = SOC
weap speed >3 sec = SOC
It's dependent on what you are trying to do. I went through the same dilemma. Since I'm Holy Spec, my SoR Holy Damage is actually greater than my white damage (even with a 2H that I use to solo). So SoC is completely useless to me.
However, if you are spec'd Ret, SoC all the way. You have much higher white damage than I could dream of :)
And like KTurner said - if you are gonna use SoC, get the SLOWEST 2H weapon you can find. Anything else would just decrease your damage output.

what spec are you wanting to be? are you trying to be healer or tank and just looking for how to solo best? or are you looking to be a group dps'er or quickly level solo'ing?
if you're trying to level the fastest, spec ret and grab a slow weaon and use SoC.
if you're wanting to heal, spec holy (obviously) and use either a 1h with as much spell damage as you or a 2h (any speed) and use SoR/SoV for solo'ing. with healing gear (and thanks to 2.3) healadins using SoR/SoV can put out some decent dps.
if you're wanting to tank, then you'll want to use a 1h with as much spell damage as possible and just aoe grind. again you'd want to use SoR/SoV instead of SoC.
if you're holy or prot SoC won't work well for you. i tried it on my holy pally and quickly respecc'd back to improved SoR instead of SoC.
