Hello I need some help.

I am an Affliction PVE raiding lock. doing SSC Maggie and 5-6 boss in ZA. My spec is 41/00/20 3 in suppression full in maelidiction and I also have the threat reduction (cant remember the name) no instant howl of terror nor exhaustion (sad to say).

My stats are depending on what gear i use 154+ spell hit and 1K + Shadow DPS or 120+ Spell Hit and 1100 + Shadow DPS. both run at about 11% crit.

Spell rotation = bosses if imp curse up = doom and after that either shadow or elements (depending on raid) then UA, Corruption Syphon (if tapped life) SB Spam and repeat. (dont have points in agony and dont use it)
Spell rotation = trash Most trash in the places I go last a bit so COS corruption UA on OT and MT targets then SB (generally try to keep at least 2 targets dotted through multi target trash.

My problem is when we are not doing a progress run i want a build to be up on the DPS 10 man runs normally 5th (trash and boss) 25 man runs 7-9 (trash and boss)atm. We have very strong mages and DPS tanks that are knocking out 800-900 DPS and I am knocking out 600 - 700 DPS

How can I up this keep spec and up + Hit (only getting a 2% miss on SB and none on Affliction spells)increase Spell DPS? i hear that UA goes up a lot with more SDPS or play with talents. I have noticed Lower geared hybrids beat me on DPS they go 30+ in Demo and 20+ in Affliction. I just would like on relaxed fun runs to show that if I was not utility I could knock out a bit more DPS

other threads seem to poo poo Immolate, I can see there point, seems to use a lot of mana casting curse, ua corruption + imolate would leave very little time for SB before dots would need refreshing 2 SB if lucky

Always include Immolate in your DoT cycle.

For Bosses it should be something like: CurseX, UA, Corruption, Immolate, LT, Siphon Life => Spam SB until DoTs need to be refreshed. The worst thing you can possibly do for mana efficiency and dps is refresh a DoT before it is completed. Rather cast another SB than refresh an incomplete DoT.

With this rotation all your DoTs (aside from SL) should finish at around the same time and you can squeeze in 4-5 SBs too. On really long boss fights I almost always end up top 3 with this. My spec is 43/0/18 and I have slightly lower hit than yours (110) and the same +damage (but 15% crit without devestation). I'm rolling at ~800-850dps

For trash: CoS, SB spam (unless I know Corruption, UA and SL will tick for full duration).

Hope this helps :)

Edit: Just a note, I almost always (~90% of the time) run with a Spriest in my group so that ***** numbers up a little.

Typically, on a boss, I go CoDoom, SL, Corr, UA then Immo, Dark Pact.

I have DoTimer with ghost bars enabled, so at this point, I just keep an eye on that, and my Imp's mana. If my Imp's mana goes above 90% I Dark Pact, twice if I'm real low, if a DoT needs refreshing(only if it's totally out), if not, I cast SB.

And yes, the threads that frown on Immo are usually 0/21/40 builds. Once you have the crit for it, and are a shadow destro build, your DoTs are not as worthwhile as your SBs critting and keeping ISB up give you insane amount of damage from your SB Crits.

ok That is a good help I will try it out good thing is in ZA the first boss is a slap and tank so I am using that as my measure and it resets every 2 or so days so can compare rotation with Agony in it.

I use Dotimer and make sure the dots are dead before resetting. Yes if you have an SP in your group he can up your DPS quite a bit I was touching 1200 DPS with his buff but had to pull off a bit as Soul shatter was on CD.

The only thing i will say is that I have 2 very good and well geared mages and one extremly good DPS tank and it is them that I really want to close the gap on when we do the fun runs obviously going utility for progress I have no problem with. It is purley for the self smile effect of being higher on the DPS.
