In order for these questions to actually matter, someone would have to spec in a manner so retarded that they should be named an idiot by the girl on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader who thought Europe was a country. But these have been bugging me, so I'll ask anyway...
1. To increase your tooltip +heal (or +spell damage) to show off and claim "I hit that", would it be most efficient to go 5/5 HotW and 3/3 Lunar Guidance (and maybe 5/5 IMotW to squeeze out the extra int)? Oh yeah and nuturing instinct. This build would be completely useless but your tooltip would be pretty high!
Something like this only maybe switch 1 point from imp mark to survival of the fittest.
2. Does imp faerie fire buff FFF as well? Meaning if you go 33+/21+/X could you get that extra debuff?
3. With the changes to entangling roots in the expansion (making it work indoors) might picking up natures grasp and maybe natures reach be a good idea? Pull from farther and allow yourself a bit of breathing room when mobs can pull off you? Probably not as good an idea as subbing in resto, but it would be an interesting option IMO. In fact, you could get a bit of survivability if you use insect swarm as well. (Granted for some of these effects you would need to be in caster form, but still...), it'd be kinda cool too to see bliz let us cast IS and NG in feral form for that reason.

just for the record, it hasnt been confirmed that roots will be allowed indoors come wotlk. blizzard is looking at the possibility that they might do that, but nothing is set in stone until the xpac drops.

Oh damn, that was the one part of this post that piqued my interest. "How did I miss THAT!?!" Hell, forget "confirmed" has it even been mentioned out of the context of us druids QQ'ing about our lack of indoor non-beasty CC? I haven't seen it discussed as even a reasonable possibility.
WRT the other matters, sorry but I waste too much gray matter contemplating matters of WoW mechanics that DO come up in the game, I can't compound that with contemplation of those that probably never would, especially in areas of Roots and Improved Faerie Fire. Pony up some never-gonna-matter question about Mangle and we might be in bid'ness. : )

It was mentioned as a possibility in response to a question asked at Blizzcon, IIRC.
I dont remember where I saw it but it was an official looking Q&A somewhere.

I very nearly specced something similar 27/0/34 until I realised I'd be going OOM way to fast for this to be really viable. Maybe in the x-pac when we can get ToL form with it...
