Rogue Question I should know the answer to by now...Follow

#1 Dec 18 2007 at 1:28 PM Rating: Decent
Soooo...

I play horde constantly and love my lock and on one of those days when the server was down I decided to roll an ally character just to mess around...

I never knew my human female rogue named KokSuk would ever make it as far as it has (lvl 63 and still going). I joined a guild on the new server of horde 70 re-rolls and we really enjoy what we do now.

My question is as such...

I have read occasionally about being able to restealth during pvp without using vanish (gouge -> restealth etc).

What are the ways that I can restealth w/o vanish during a world pvp fight?

Are these restealth methods only available in BG's or arena?

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

I Believe the answer is running far enough away after a gouge or a blind to get out of combat then stealthing and sprinting back in.

In a PVP eniroment, I believe 5 seconds OOC will allow you to restealth. Imp. Gouge is required to pull it off iirc.

And technically I don't think you need to run away. Theoretically you could stand right by them. The point of running away is to make sure if they pop out early, you're far enough away to still stealth.

I always thought you needed 5/5 camo and improved gouge. I could be wrong though.

there are no talents required, just get out of combat, i think it's around 6 seconds without getting hit or hitting them for combat to drop.

You need to drop combat, which means not dealing or taking damage for several seconds. Improved gouge lasts almost long enough for you to drop combat and restealth, but its smart to run away from melee or to LoS ranged just to be sure they don't hit you in the small gap between the end of gouge and dropping combat.

You can easily restealth after a blind.

Note that in some places (Alterac Valley in particular), you can get stuck in combat for no reason at all, and will have to vanish to get out of it.

This method works for pvp, but you can't "manually restealth" against your average mob.

I never understood why people think you need camouflage. This decreases the stealth cooldown to 5 seconds. So, I guess if you wanted to drop combat the instant you initiated it and restealth 5 seconds into the fight, you'd need this. Otherwise, no, it doesn't help you restealth in any way.

It's one of the scrubtastic points towards hemo.

I just wanted to use the word scrubtastic

It's not really related, but I freaking love camo.

if you take damage from a DOT, you can still restealth

debuffs put onto you (shouts) from the other player will also put you back into combat

yes you can restealth with a dot on you, but it will very quickly knock you right out of stealth when it ticks again. so there is not much point in doing so.
