Kara ready RogueFollow

I'm not a rogue, my highest level rogue is 24ish. I checked the faqs, and went a few pages in reading titles, and didn't see it anywhere.

I'm trying to get my guild into kara. We have enough level 70s that are keyed. The question is are they ready. I'm tired of playing the passive role, and waiting it out.

I want to take an affirmative stance and start asking the guild members that are keyed their stats, and try t suggest what they need to shoot for to be ready for Kara.

But I don't see any stat requirements for rogues. I know as a BM hunter my goal is around 20% crit 1700 ap, 300+ tooltip DPS(unbuffed), 7k HP, 6.5k MP, and around 100+ hit.

So what would be the stat requirements for rogues?

200 hit rating
1400ap
20% crit

In that order of importance. Point for point hit rating provides the most DPS (especially in raids) then agility, with 2pts of AP close behind, and far behind is crit rating.

I had better then these with enchanted/gemed quest gear. Not too much to ask IMO, lower stats are acceptable and just fine if you already have the place on farm (which is usually the case) but a guild learning the ropes any less will be dragging everyone down.

Some type of full 41pt combat spec.
41/20 mute
or 11/27/23 ish tri-spec hemo.

Individually, everyone better know their optimal CP rotation. Once there you can measure their DPS during boss fights (don't bother with trash or total run) using recap. They should be around 750 or so on most fights, anything under 600 is pretty poor.

I would say 200hit is a tad high for just stepping into Kara. I would say more along the lines of 150-175.

I disagree. If you question the quality of hit rating: http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t14304-rogue_dps_spreadsheet/
and get back to me.

Anything less then 200 seems either lazy or misinformed to me.

Hi, I'm in a guild that's on Kael, and I'm not even a raider and they consider me one of the class officers, even though officially I can't be.

Meanwhile your gear is completely scrubtastic.

My PvP gear has everything to do with this and your guilds 25man progression is also what its all about. Along with your ...almost officer rank?

I know what forums to go back to if I want a yes, no, yes, no.... discussion.

Dwittle, If you tried stepping outside your house every now and then, you would realise not everyone has the time to instance and farm to get good enough gear that provides 200 hit rating pre-Kara that doesn't sacrifice AP or Crit.

Now the dps increase you see from 200 hit rating over 175 hit rating may be necessary for the Prince and such, put that level of dps isn't exactly necessary for Attumen, Moroes and Maiden.

Hi, I have better gear than you for both PvE and PvP. You can shut up now, since I have more experience than you in both areas.

200 hit for starting kara is a bit too much to ask of your rogues. As Theo said 175 will do IF your raid know how to buff.

Most guilds will have a pretty hard skill/gear check at Curator. So they will farm quite a bit the first 3 bosses and opera. This means that those who are at 175 hit, whichis a decent level of hit rating for starting kara, could raise that if they get lucky and get

It is quite simple to make it to that 175 hit rating if u farm at least 2 pieces out of this set -the chest and gloves are the easiest to get but they do not give u hit rating themselves, it's the 2 pieces bonus that gives u a 35 HR http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/itemset.html?setid=659

He prefaced his expectations and is pretty close. You should, and can be near the marks he put up.

You can't ding 70 and go to Kara. He explained that, although not in detail, but the gist is there.

BUT HEY! MY GUILD IS ON MOROES! I'M PRETTY TERRIBLE AT THIS GAME.

1250 ap
150 hit
19.5% crit (no crit adding weapon spec included)

was my requirements when i was rogue cl in my guild

reccomended

1300 ap
175 hit
20% crit
8k hp

very doable without raid gear at all

tell your rogues that lack this to get 70 blue items for rogues (try to avoid anything with dodge rating on it, as usually its a high amount and makes the piece weak overall), the 'Fel Leather' crafted set pieces, anything from assassination set, anything from wastewalker set, or any epic pvp gear
#17 Dec 19 2007 at 7:06 AM Rating: Decent
Oh Dwittle, how about you actually raid with sub 200 hit before talking, with my blue gear from non-heroics the only person I was behind was a Warlock in epic Tailoring gear.

Hit is important, but if you know how to play you will be fine and if you can't top DPS charts with a Rogue you are #downy.

Enchanted quest reward blues are not hard core, and neither am I.

Your toon has very little more to offer more then my toon. So If its superior experience you are calling on its a pretty weak move. Also considering, as I stated before, I had a hand in the guilds progession through Kara way back in the day. Which is just what the OP is doing. But I still dont see what "you vs me" has anything to do with this.

Why would I do that? and I'm never behind anyone in DPS.

If you wanna take rogues with lower stats IDC. But enchanted/gemed blue quest rewards are too much to ask?

wow how bout not even close =\

sorry, my numbers were easy to attain before honor gear was ridiculous... back in S1

its basically decent rogue gear, all 68+ blue items, with green gems and cheap enchants

to expect much higher then that without heroics or pvp epix is completely unfair

I totally agree with Mongoose here. You can't ding 70 and expect to go to Kara, but you shouldn't be expected to grind endlessly for heroic epics and badge gear either.

As long as you know how to play, you don't need to be epic'd out. 68+ level blue gear, with proper socketing and enchants, is fine to start. You won't necessarily get all the way through, but it's fine to farm the first 4-5 bosses or so.

No one suggested epics, heroics or even normal instance drops. Just quest rewards maybe a cheep crafted item or two. You could easily have the stats I suggested the day you ding 70.

You could have seen yourself, but I'll do the work for you : )

A few things to note:
-You will have very low HP you will probably want some more just to give your healers some room to work.
-I just used the welfare PvP weps to fill the slots, most any other weps have comparable stats.
-The helm enchant requires rev CE rep. You can get it before 70 by doing it the most efficiently (quests last). Very important, but you can still pass the req's w/o.
-Some is AH/crafted but very cheap. the most expensive thing will be all those Noble Topaz, I really hate green gems but they will get you there too.
-A few (not many) might be level 70 quests but hey, you have a day to work with.

Just out of curiousity what is your HP?

And I think the point originally was simply because something is attainable does not necessarily mean it should be a requirement. You have to figure that anyone who doesn't do their HW to find out what gear they should have for Kara probably haven't put in the time to garner the money or friends needed to get the top enchants on every piece or the gems you suggested which as I could tell are blue quality gems.

Anyway I'm going back to my Tauren Warrior.
