Ok I have been looking at weapons on my server for my hunter and I have decided I really need some help. Several are available to me incuding

Precisely Calibrated Boomstick http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?source=live;witem=2100
Guttbuster http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?source=live;witem=13139
Outrunner's Bow http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?source=live;witem=19563
Hurricane http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?source=live;witem=2824

I do pl;an to pvp for a while at 48-49 so I should be able to get the Outrunner's Bow wqith some work but I really wanted to know what you the hunter community knows about these weapons and what would be the best for pvping.

I keep looking at the Precisely Calibrated Boomstick and going oooh shiny but I get mixed results from hunters about battleground preformance. Please give any adice or omments you wish and I hope I can continue to get excellet advice for this group like I have in the past.

Oh and I am a bm specc if that would change any answers.

The best weapon for pvp, hmmmmmmmmm....

Taking a wild guess here, but I suspect it might be the pvp bow...

Honestly, why would you consider spending upwards of a couple hundred gold on a couple of those weps when as soon as you hit 58 they are completely obsolete, if not before then?

Get to Outland on whatever random bits of stuff you find lying on the ground. What you use doesn't really start to matter until the mid-60's.

I'll paraphrase North, "A hunter can go 1-70 with a 0/0/0 build and wearing nothing but a bow."

Yeah, don't bother stopping at level 49 to do PvP. Try to hit 58 as fast as you can and head to outlands. The gear you get there will be better than the epics that you can get at 49. Sure, it's acceptable to stop to PvP for a while to get the bow, but don't go out of your way to get all the PvP pieces as you will outgrow them while questing and doing instances. Also, you could start saving money for your epic mount if you'd like.

I agree. Outlands greens will destroy oldworld blues and purples. It would be illegal if it wasn't so awesome. Nothing like getting 58 then, an hour or two later hitting lv 59 and wearing like 5-7 quest rewards that blow away what you had previously been using. Outlands stuff really does own.

Just imagine what Northrend greens are going to do to us...

Don't pay any mind to these other guys as they really went off subject of the matter at hand with your question. He is not wanting to know if he should stay and get this wep or go onto outlands..No he specifically stated which weapon he wanted to use for the 48-49 bracket. Sorry about that Elderdrake that no one responded properly to your question so I will : ).After reviewing the weapons, the guttbuster would be my preference of choice for the 49 bracket. You will by far output more damage with the guttbuster then the boomstick or the other weapons of choice you presented. Also, since you mentioned your bm spec again my opinion will be guttbuster because of the roation of your shots will be alot better with it being a tad bit slower.

Yes while they didn't directly answer his question. They really did answer it.

One said don't spend hundreds of gold on a weapon when you can just get the marks and honor for it.

But I would like to state I disagree with anyone saying you should waste money on gear until you hit outlands. If you want to PVP do it. Just don't waste marks, Honor or money to gear up when you can save all the above for lvl 70 gear or even 80 gear.

I have already decided that after I replace my boots and cape on my hunter I am not wasting any more money on my gear as when I get back from my extended (unwelcome) pull away from the game, the expansion will be out and I will be junking all my epics anyway.

I do agree with what is stated in regards to outland gear and saving marks and honor for the level 70 bracket. However, The Op is just wanting to know which of the following weapons would benefit him for the 49 bracket. The Op mentioned he is going to pvp there for a long time and did not mention anything in regards to heading to outland.(example) If I had a question regarding a level 19 twink item ,I don't want to hear "don't spend money and wait until outland" or "save up marks and honor", I just want to know your opinion on what weapon to use becuase I am intending to stay at 19 for a long time. It's the same thing for the OP's question. However ,from what was mentioned is good advice for a person's goal to head to outlands and want to pvp at level 70. However, poorly answered for someone whose goal is to stay in a lower bracket and wanting to know information concerning that bracket.

While I see your point we are merely suggesting that he not try to Gear all the way up for pvp as he is gonna grow out of the gear right away. If you want to stay in a pvp area for a while. Stop at 59 with some outlands stuff. or even 60 if you plan on running a lot of AV. With the outlands gear you will be a step above all the players who don't have the expansion. Yes there are still some out there.

You wont have to spend any money on gear. You will rack up a lot of marks, and you will have fun being slightly overpowered for that bracket. I know I did as a BM. Id grab the flag and pop tBW when ever I had a mage root me and Id take off.

I won 5 out of 5 WSG runs that way. I caped the flag 2 times on 4 of the 5 and all 3 times on the last one. Now my team had a bit to do with that as they figured out what I was doing after my 2nd game and started protecting me. Meaning I got bubbles from palis and priests as I ran by.

Immunity to being slowed while AotC is awesome. =D (I mean by getting hit due to bubble protecting me. of course)

Don't know if it is still that way but it was.
