#1 Dec 14 2007 at 2:38 PM Rating: Decent
im trying to make a macro so i will drop all the totems i will need on one button
but i'm having a problem with global cooldown is the a macro command so it will wait for the global cooldown to be up before going on to the next part

so far i have

/cast Searing Totem (highest rank)
/stopcasting
/cast Strength of Earth Totem (highest rank)
/stopcasting
/cast Mana Spring Totem (highest rank)
/stopcasting
/cast Grace of Air Totem (highest rank)
/stopcasting

is there any thing i can add to compensate for the global cooldowns?

Blizzard has said outright that they don't want shamans to hit 1 button and drop 4 totems, so I'm not sure you can. MAYBE using castsequence, but I doubt even that.

You can create a /castsequence macro, however I don't personally know how to do one.

Blizz doesn't have any problems with this since you would still have to press the button 4 times to drop all 4.

This is an excellent idea and I need to figure it out for my shaman just to open up 3 actions buttons.

Meh.

/cast [button:1] Strength of Earth Totem
/cast [button:2] Grace of Air Totem
/cast [button:3] Searing Totem
/cast [button:4] Mana Spring Totem

Not hard. Hit left click for SoET, Right click for GoAT, middle button for Searing, and I think you can replace [button:4] with [modifier:alt]. Keep in mind you have to mouse over the macro then click for it to work, not just hit middle mouse out of the blue or something like that.

For the castsequence(Resets the macro after 30 sec, change the totems around as you see fit, change the reset:# as you see fit.):

/castsequence reset=30 Strength of Earth Totem; Grace of Air Totem; Searing Totem; Mana Spring Totem

EDIT: Edited for /castsequence

Actually that macro is bulky.

Here's an easier one:

/castsequence reset=10 Wrath of Air Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Strength of the Earth Totem, Searing Totem

Doing that if you push the button 4 times it will drop all 4.

If you go more than 10 seconds between button presses it will reset back to the first totem.

I honestly prefer it because it also allows you to recast them when they fall or not cast some at all.

I see what you're saying.

I guess it depends on what you're doing.

On my shaman, when I'm raiding, I drop the same 4 totems for every fight.

I'd say to heck with the macro and just use TotemTimers mod. You can right click on any totem to set it as a default, and then clicking the TotemTimers for whatever specific Element will drop that default Totem.

I'm pretty sure you can keybind them too but I prefer using the mouse.
