Instances for Hunter GearFollow

#1 Dec 14 2007 at 7:56 AM Rating: Decent
Hey guys,

Through viewing some of these posts, I've seen that some of you mentioned that there are certain instances which are more likely to drop Hunter-based equipment, such as mail and bows. Can you list a few of them, as well as the level needed to run them? They can be low, mid, or high level.

I'm a Lvl 55 Hunter now, and I've been getting most of my equipment through the AH. Needless to say, I think I can be better geared. I normally don't run instances unless it's needed for quests, so it might be time to change that up for better benefits.

Thanks!

Don't worry about running instances for lvl 55 gear. Once you hit 58, you'll head to outlands, and the quested/dropped gear there will be much better than anything you can get (easily) in the old world. And it will be much easier to get as well.

Once you get into the 60s, there are some instances you can run but the better stuff is in the late 60s or 70 instances, like Steamvaults (gun, two Beast Lord pieces), Mechanar (Beast Lord helm, gun), Botanica (neck, Beast Lord Chest), and Shattered Halls (bow, Beast Lord gloves, Desolation gloves if you want).

Before that though, stick to Outlands quests and drops and you will be fine.

Awesome! Thank you...I feel I've been doing something wrong and not maximizing what I could be doing to make my character more efficient. I'm currently working through Un'Goro Crater, and will probably head to Winterspring/Plaguelands before attempting Outlands. I just ran Sunken Temple last night, and beyond a few pieces of mail, nothing else too special. As you can tell, this is my first major run through of WoW. If any of you have further suggestions, it's appreciated.

Just pick up armor and weaponry with +agility, +stamina, +attack power and +intellect. Sell those with other types of stats. When you get to Outland you'll find ".. of the Bandit" pieces are very nice. When you get closer to 70 concentrate on finding gear as outlined in the "Pre-Raid Gear List" stickie at the top of this forum.

Outland gear is so much better than anything you'll find in the old world instances that its not really worth the effort in most cases. The only reason to run old world instances is for rare drop recipes or recipes one gets from increasing their reputation with various factions.

My friend who plays as well insists on running a lot of instances, more for XP, while I as stated lean towards questing. I find the XP gains are better on the questing side, and that's reaffirmed in some different forums that I read. Although, instances are great for leveling up a pet.

Do you all feel the gear drops at my level and below are pretty much the same from questing/grinding as opposed to instances? We can agree that the lvl 60-70 instances have excellent drops.

Edit: Whoops saw the answer above. Guess that's a good point!

If you really want to keep tabs on which gear drops from which bosses in instances I would recommend getting Atlas Loot Enhanced.

I will always check potential drops before I decide to run an instance.

Ramparts (lvl 60-62), Slave Pens (63-65), Underbog (64-66), CoT: Durnholde (65-67), Mana Tombs (65-67), Sethekk halls (67-70), and pretty much every single lvl 70 5-man.

You may also want to pvp at lvl 59 and get enough marks/honor to get S1 and the non-set epics (the non-set epics are great for pvp and pve), so when you get to 70 it's like BAM instant gear upgrade.

Boy do I feel stupid. I went the hard way. I went on wowwwiki and just looked up the instances that way for the gear they can drop.
