Do we pallies get to learn the 150 riding skill after we do the epic mount quests? Or do we have to pay for it this time around?
You get the riding skill with the quest.
It should be noted though that the quest line isn't free. Depending on faction it costs anywhere from 350-500g if you don't farm any of the mats. Still less than buying it outright though.

I spent about 400-450g total on my epic mount, significantly less than if I had to just buy the skill straight up.
