I rolled a priest with all of my friends so we could group and instance together and I was wondering, When does healing become difficult? I say this because in all of the WC, VC, SFK, and in my lower levels RFC I have never had to really mash at my keyboard too much. Its just been calm button by button with time to think of what heal to throw. Does it get harder at like say Scarlet Monestary or is it easy until Outland? I'm not complaining just curious.

scarlet mostry is interesting, healing gets hard whne u got multiple mobs and they get strong.deadmines wc and sfk arent 2 hard, ive found that the monestry is rough cause of aggroing.but yes healing is difficult it takes praxtice and split second decisions

Healing, even in monastery is not difficult. Truthfully, all Azerothian instances, if you are specced holy, and have at least a semi-competent group (I assume you have both these?) are going to be pretty easy. If you run Stratholme or Scholomance, BRD or UBRS, then it does get decently challenging.

Once you hit outland, the first couple instance are easy if specced holy, semi-difficult if specced shadow. After that, moving up to mana-tombs, Sethekk, crypts and Durnholde, things get a lot more challenging/fun. Especially the boss fights in these instances require a lot of concentration and skills.

If you want to be challenged just roll with a crappy PUG. :o

i spent time outside the 5 sec rule pre-tbc.... went to outlands to find myself spamming heals instead of just floating in the back occasionally casting.

then i became overgeared for regular instances... i use just renew & ProM on trash pulls... boring, but relaxing. heroic still require i pay attention.

kara goes smoothly once the raid knows the fight. it can be messy & there's a little more pressure when the guild first learns the encounter.

ZA is insanely stressful (i've only healed bear boss).

That pretty much sums it up!

How hard it is to heal is directly proportionate to the competency of your group. The first time I went to the Monastery, the pug was a mess. I almost deleted my priest. The rogue insisted on tanking and aggroing everything in sight. I was constantly struggling with mana issues, and I felt like the most incompetent healer in the game.

The second time, I went in with a very good group. The tank tanked, the dps managed their aggro and I was now struggling to stay awake.

Enjoy it... while you have the time to think of what heal to use, consider it learning your class. By the time you hit "panic mode" in OL instances, it'll be second nature!

Good luck and have fun!
