I was just wondering what the current cap is on Kitty + hit rating if anyone knows.

I have been getting into Kara with my new guild and occasionally I am asked to DPS instead of tanking. I just want to make sure that I am contributing the best I can to the fights. I looked tonight because I haven't taken a hard look at my cat gear since last week -- and my hit was like +225 (around 17%). I'm not sure that I need that much and I may be able to pick up other items that will help with damage. However it is terrible to waste the energy on an attack that misses the target.

Also will the +hit help with PVP? And if so should I have higher +hit for that reason (just bank a PVP set)?

Thanks for any input.

Depending on Expertise rating you can get away with as little as 99 +hit. At least. I think flat +hit should be somewhere around the 105-110 mark. I posted a similar question a while ago and many of our fellow druids were pretty shocked that I'd stacked hit to 200+

As for the PvP side of things, I'm under the impression that +hit isn't really important, although I'm sure some of our resident guru's can maybe fill in more detail / put me right ;)

The hit cap in PvE for Druids is 9%, or 142 (I think? Might be 141) Hit Rating. In PvP it's 5%, and I don't remember the exact amount of rating required there.

Either way, you're waaaaaaay over the cap.

Yup, per wowwiki +142 is the magical number that means you'll never miss a level 73 boss.

I haven't seen (or looked for) any math about how and how much "Expertise" would affect that requirement.

You should be able to significantly up your AP or crit by swapping out a mind-boggling 83 extra +hit for str or agi...I'm light at +100 and would take some off that hit your hands if I could. : )

It won't. Hit rating reduces chance to miss; Expertise rating reduces chance to be parried/dodged. Two different parts of the combat table.
