Here's my profile on WoW armory...

Athrogate

I'm having some issues with this thing. My gear is pretty weak sauce, so I'm looking for some suggestions on upgrades. I mostly do PvE questing, some grinding, and I don't do PvP at all. A lot of solo work... If I'm in a group I'll usually off tank. Right now, though, my hit rating, crit, etc. is in bad shape.

This is the first character I've rolled in this game, so I didn't really have a plan to begin with. Now that I've gotten to 60, I feel like it's lost some direction, so I'm wondering if anyone has some interesting gear/weapon/build tips to go from 61-70. Any suggestions you guys might have would be appreciated.

It looks like you have done a couple of the beginning Outland quests. I would recommend that you just keep working on Outland quests and maybe start in on the Hellfire instances. Most of your equipment will be upgraded before you even finish all of the quests in the first zone.

Most of the Outland quests have been pretty solo-friendly to my 68. A couple of the boss fights require a group but that is nothing new. Just keep it up...I started really enjoying my character all over again when I hit level 65.

Worst case scenario...try out a new class if this one is getting boring. Play around on some alt characters and I bet you will come back to your main and discover you aren't bored with him/her anymore.

Playstyle/spec:
Stick with 2H weapons/spec til you find a few +hit pieces, at which point you can transition to a dual wield Fury build for more DPS. Eventually as you get more hit this build becomes a ton of fun and great DPS. For me this was somewhere between lvl61-62.

Personally as I get closer to 70 I'm finding Fury is a freaking blast compared to my old Arms build. So much fun!

Can't help with specific talent builds as my own build is kinda crappy right now (Tyrsong is my warrior, linked below), but the thread "DPS tracking" has a few suggested builds worth trying.

Questing strategy:
If you want, you'll be fine just stumbling around Outlands and running whatever quests you find. I recommend being somewhat thorough in Hellfire, at least at first. The reason is that Hellfire is chock full of item upgrades, and when you get to Zangarmarsh that dries out a little and there are less item upgrade quests.

If you want to be more assured of finding the right items, check here: http://www.wowhead.com/?zone=3483#quests

Ok, There are a few things here, lemme list them off:

1) firstly, try and change your +spi gear (.. of the whale and ... of the boar) to more offense oriented stuff. Go for "of the Bear" (str and sta) and "of the Beast" (Str Agi and Sta) Your helm, shoulders, cloak and one of your rings are an absolute black hole for you as far as dps goes ... they're not contributing at all (there's no ap or crit bonus there). These pieces may serve you a bit more from a tanking perspective, but are useless for DPS.

2) You also have a large amount of +def gear (of the champion) .. try and change that as well as above. Both you trinkets, you pants, your gloves and both your weapons sword are all tanking gear.

3) look for +hit gear, (you have 0 hit, and that's going to be hurting your damage output), try and get as close to 100 hit as possible, Dual wield will start feeling a lot more comfortable when you get there.

I'm going to assume that you had your alternate gear equipped when you logged off, because, quite honestly, I can't see how you're even vaguely enjoying yourself in that gear while questing.

I'm don't intend to some disparraging, but that's the way I see it.

Hope this helps

what you got to do is logout and eat pie... steak pie, mushromm pie, what ever you like.

Then look at your gear and save all the + def and others that are gd at tanking and use equip with + hit, sta, str, agl this way you have both tank and dps gear... and have eaten a pie.... readi for any situtaion

edit: its up to you what gear you like to use for i used healing gear while dpsing for some extra fun :P so whatever you enjoy the mos tyou should do

A few things you can start working toward:

1) Do the Overlord quest. The Trinket reward is amazing. The chain starts at Honor Point where you have to kill some Fel Orc Peons, then 3 Cannons, then some guy named Arix'amai. That guy drops an item (I guess if you want you can ignore the first parts of the chain and just kill the guy for the item) that starts a quest leading up to Overlord.

2) Get Honored with Honor Hold. Here's why. Do enough quests in Hellfire and it won't be hard at all. After doing every single quest in Hellfire, I'm about 6k/12k from Honored->Revered.

3) Do the daily quest Hellfire Fortifications 10 times and you can get this trinket. Do it 5 more times and you can get this throwing weapon

4) Start doing Hellfire Ramparts and Blood Furnace.

Basically, just keep doing quests and instances and your gear will start upgrading itself in no time.

Guys, thanks for your suggestions. I'm going to give some of that stuff a try, and hopefully I can get some better gear out of it.
