#1 Dec 12 2007 at 6:41 AM Rating: Decent
hey there, well im sort of new to this but i got some exerience but i got one simple question, i read some posts and FAQ but its not clear to me... when im tanking multiple mobs whan shell i do to have them on me? Thunder clap => ok but thats the only 1 effective thing? i asked other warriors for advise but they all say something like: "spam TC" well ok i can do that but sometimes agro from healer is little bit bigger.

i think that demo shout or cleave could be a help or maybe not? is it worth to use it?

any advise pls?
...ty for all answers

Reroll a Paladin!

Thunder Clap, Demo Shout, Challenging Shout (10m CD). Tab and sunder or devastate. Other than that...umm...reroll?

Make sure to tell the group not to attack anyone that isn't marked with the skull, so it will be easier for you to keep aggro. If you have a couple CC's pull the main group of bad guys away from the CC'ed mobs and spam TC, I rarely lose aggro to a healer when I do that. Whirlwind and cleave are a good thing to use as well, being a proficient stance dancer is a must though.

I've been messing about a bit with 'AoE tanking' on my warrior and I found the Sporeggar shield with Felsteel pike and thorns working rather well. On a guild run I pulled all the adds in BM in one pull, spammed demo shout every GCD (TC only affect 4 targets which is a bit useless when you have 20+ mobs on you). I let the team wait 10 sec and also threw a fel iron bomb on the mobs. The team could go nuts on them with losing aggro of only 1 or 2 mobs. The same trick works on instance mobs, if its 6 or less I'll use TC & tab-cleave. If its more mobs I'll use demo shout spam. Its recommended to also throw a grenade to get some more threat build quickly.

Alltogether I have demo shout every 1.5 sec, 40ish damage on a mob when it hits me. And 30ish damage + a dot that gets 50ish/3 sec with 5 stacks on block (41% block with trinket up).

Ofcourse its not paladin tanking, but its fun to mess about with now and then.
