Spell rotation on trash?Follow

I'm just wondering before creating my Shadow Priest but can't play WoW yet due to computer issues ='(, what is a Shadow Priest's spell rotation on regular trash mobs?

I ask this because from what I've seen, a Shadow Priest takes time to do damage.

This is assuming you are already level 70 and are already Shadow/Disc.

EDIT:Oh yeah two more questions.

Does a Shadow Priest usually run out of mana while doing 5-mans/raiding? I was thinking if you popped SW:D and recieved a Spirit Tap, you'd probably last a bit, correct?

And should a Shadow Priest stack some spirit on the side while leveling to increase the effect of Spirit Tap?

Thanks in Advance =].

1) On trash that I know only lasts 15 seconds or less, I use VT as my only DoT and go to town with MB and Mindflay. On trash with more hp, I'll throw up SW:P and VE as well. This is in raids. In 5-mans, I put VT on everything but usually don't use SW:P on most trash because things don't last long enough in 5-mans other than the bosses for the most part. This is with a well geared group, if your group is weaker then you want to do as much damage as you can :)

2) In 5-mans no, you should never run out of mana. Pulls and boss fights don't last long enough, and if you do start to get low you can just use your shadow fiend and that should take care of you.

In raids though, especially when you first start the Kara boss fights you will find that we run out of mana pretty quickly. You will get used to using mana potions every cooldown and your shadowfiend must be timed right to get the best use out of it.

3) I stacked spirit while leveling up until the early 50s. I found it helped immensely as I never had to drink. Just don't neglect int and make sure you have enough stam to prevent death. :) Once you get into the 50s though you can start finding more gear with +dmg, and once you get into outlands you will find much less spirit on gear. But it's ok, with the added +dmg you kill things faster which is always good.

Mana pots every cooldown while learning an encounter, and then you can get away with using them less and less as you get it down. Between ZA 2-3 nights a week, the stuff we have on farm (Gruul/Mag, Hydross, Reaver), and the stuff we're learning (Lurker, Leo, Al'ar), I go through about 400g in consumables a week, more than half of which is mana pots, most of which is either wiping on new stuff or during ZA (I don't drink on timed loot, I pop pots).

In 5-mans and heroics, though, mana isn't a whole lot of an issue, especially as you get gear. And yes, grabbing kills with SWD can extend your longevity, but it shouldn't really be a problem anywho.
