I've been playing my hunter with a specific goal in mind: PvP until I get enough marks for my Arena 1 set (for honor) and the crossbow, and have all the marks and some of the honor saved up for when I hit 70. I'm 59 now, and parked in AV (12 marks out of 90 so far!). However, I just saw the topic on the Gladiator's Crossbow, where it was pretty much told that it was a "bad" item (because of its 3.00 speed).
Is there a good alternative to use, then? Something for PvP, preferably, but a BoE epic or something from a 5-man might work as well.
I have minimal experience with my hunter in instances, or instances in general at 70, so I'm focusing on PvP to get my gear. I also do not know many people, and thus do not have an arena team; so PvP BG gear is where I am aiming.

if you mean my post in the gladiator xbow thread theres something i should clarify.
those numbers is in a pve situation and only apply there, and also only apply for a BM hunter.
When it comes to pvp a slow weapon is a good thing since it means bigger hits and in pvp your only doing burst damage.
so dont be afraid to pick up the xbow.
as for the pvp armour on a whole i cant say much, never had a single piece and basicly never pvp at all so done really know how it is.
so what do you plan on doing at 70? if your getting the pvp items to have a good start for doing pve at 70 you should also remeber that outland acually has some pretty good quest/boe loot so thats pefectly fine doing instances in, if your gearing up for raids id say you wont have any use for the S1 gear at all basicly
to start raiding you would prob want a mix of the best quest loot and some lv70 instace loot.
if your plan is to continue pvping at 70 i dont know what would be best altho a nice setup of S1 should be a good starting point, but thats for the pvper to answer.
as for arena. lots of people are in your situation and also looking for someone to try it out with. remeber even if you loose matches you still get points so im sure you can find someone to play with.
