Is there any chance Blizzard would give us more pets?Follow

I have 3 pets on my hunter girl, cat that is with her since level 8, rare white wind serpent and two headed carrion bird Trachela from Terokkar.

I am browsing Petopia out of boredom and I see so many beautiful available pets. I would love to have ghost saber and one of those pink or blue vipers from WC, and a lot more.

I really dont care if I had to level them from level 20, I dont care about getting any endgame content asap, I care about having beautifully looking pet by my side even to match my toons clothes or something like that.
I dont care about cost either, if another stable slot would cost 500 or 1k gold I would still get it.

I know there are non combat pets but its not the same.

So does anyone here regret not being able to have more than 3 pets, and did you ever hear Blizzard might consider giving us an option to have more?

I haven't heard any news about them allowing more stable slots and I'm guessing there never will be anything like that. Sure, in a way it would be nice to have so many beautiful skins by your side but, at the same time, it also goes against the main idea of the hunter pet.

A pet is a hunter's partner. And they need to be quested with in order to make them strong partners for battle. We work hard with them, pay attention to their happiness level, teach them and feed them - all this to differ from the cold unemotional use (and abuse) that warlocks have for their pets/minions.

If we had enough stable slots for all these beautiful pets, how much would that encourage a strong bond with each animal? They would become trophy wives, clinging to your side and bought to be there, just so their beautiful appearance can be shown off. Stables would become too much like a rich kid's walk-in wardrobe.

I sometimes like a variety of pets too and I sometimes wish I could have some of the many skins I see. But having a pet is about having a brother/sister in arms, rather than something pretty to fork over gold for. It would be handy to have more stable slots but I can't see Blizzard stepping that far away from the basic idea of the class.

Yes, basically I can see your point and partially agree with it.

But let me make example from my own life.
I used to have small farm with goats, sheep, rabbits and poultry. I had about 30 goats and 20 breeding rabbits at the same time and I totally loved them all. However it may seem weird or funny I had really strong bond with each of my goats. I helped in delivery of every female I kept afterwards and raised it from day one and I received lot of love and loyalty from them in return.
Same with rabbits I kept for breeding. I could let them loose and they would run after me or try jump in my lap for some cuddling.

Right now there are some rare non combat pets in WoW that are for show off in fact. I have the crawdad and tiny spore bat on my lock. And it took time and effort to get them and yes, I consider them as trophies of a kind :)
If I decide to buy the new azure whelpling it will be for show off too, and I might show that I am *rich* enough to afford it too.

There is already "rich kid's walk-in wardrobe" possibility in game, actually I find epic flying mounts kind of just that too (what doesnt stop me from having them on my both 70ies)..... oh well I guess you are right, Blizzard will never give us more of that on our hunters.
I still regret it though.

I can see a use for one more stable slot. Once you hit 70 you can have three permanent pets as long as you've already learned all the skills. One pet for solo questing. One for PvP. One for instances. With two stable slots I have just barely enough room. When we get WoLK I expect I'll have to ditch one of my current pets in order to learn the new skills available in Northrend. I'm not looking forward to giving up one. I'll probably give up the carrion bird since that one required the least effort to level up.

I am in the same boat. I am trying to catch the Ghost Wolf right now and when the new expansion comes out I really don't want to have to give up my beautiful Red windserpent (I love it cause it eats Mage Food.) And there is no way in hell I am giving up my Ghostsaber. Grinding a mob from lvl 19-70 is no chore I plan on undertaking again. Grinding this Ghost Wolf is gonna be hard enough for my patience so I will end up giving up my wind serpent due to the fact I can catch them at up to 67. =(

The only reason I have not gone to get that Ghost Wolf is the lack of stable slots. What's it good for besides being unusual? I hear howl doesn't scale well and it would be really useful only in groups with lots of meleeing. That's not enough reason to give up my Ghost Saber, boar or carrion bird.

Boars charge doesn't scale well either. I want it to go with my GhostSaber. If for nothing else.

Scaling isnt Howl's problem, its that the highest rank is lvl 56...

I would very much like to have more stable slots. The pets are my main draw to the hunter class. But the last word I read from Blizzard was that every level of Hades would freeze over before they would add more stable slots. Okay, that’s not a quote from the blue text, but it more or less sums it up. The post did say that they were looking into changes that would allow us to have all three stable slots filled and still be able to learn new pet skills. But that was many months ago and I’ve not read anything since.

My only solution was to level multiple hunters:

70 – Female Dwarf
70 – Male Night Elf
66 – Male Dwarf
47 – Female Night Elf

67 – Male Blood Elf
62 – Male Orc

Plus four or five bank alt hunters between levels 20 and 40.

All my hunters have at least two pets, so I’ve now tamed most of the pets that I want. Of course it’s going to get more complicated when the next expansion comes out and introduced new pets.

Strangely, I have never had a desire to have more than one pet. I still have the same one i got at level 10, or whatever (i'm 62). I have tried many times to convince myself to get another one, but i have a strange sense of loyalty to my cat! I'm sure i'm missing out on all sorts of things by not getting more, but i'm having fun, and that's really all that matters.

My red lynx and aqua scorpid are good enough for me right now. I was gonna go with a dino named clevergirl but the low level raptors didnt really appeal to me.

Outland will bring many oppurtunities. I hope Blizz has us in mind in terms of pets as much as they did for TBC [ravagers and spiky raptors!]

I would like to see one extra stable slot with the next expansion. I currently have my Boar for solo play, Ravager for group content, and one of the stealthy spiders from BEM that I tamed on a lark one day. I could drop the spider without a second thought, but I would imagine their might be some cool new pets in the new expansion. With the current setup, I'd have to drop one of my two main pets, *or* hope that whatever nifty new WotLK pet I tame already comes with a full set of abilities available at the highest possible rank, otherwise raising it's loyalty and leveling it up would be a waste, since I'd just have to ditch it later on for an upgrade.
