I was on a talent build calculator trying out different combat talent builds

and then i realised....

O GOD! i dont want to respec! Please ive held daggers and danced around stunned npc's using backstab--->mutilate for 3 years!

THREE YEARS is a long time! i love my build! i love its lovely poisons and meneuvers!

Is there no hope for raids? Especially after kara?

my position is much like that someone who has gained a dependency ["ancy"?]. Iam a mut needler and aint never gonna get my fix by snorting no combat fairy dust!

Mutilate fails in raids. There was a Mutilate rogue in my guild for a long time (because no sword ever drops for us). He had nearly full T5 and all the rest of his gear was T5 equivalent. I walked into the guild in nothing but Kara gear (not even anything from Gruul or Mag) and raped him on the meters. Some fights had a gap as high as 200 DPS.

Have you tried combat yet? You might like it more. If not then you could always respec back. Sometimes you never know. Sometimes we fall back on our past ways and fear change. We keep old ways as a crutch and try to justify them to ourselves and others. We might make the excuse that combat is boring and cliche, based on what others have said and told us. The truth is we're playing WoW, which plenty have said is a boring easy cliche mmo. Yet here we are still playing it despite what others' comments and opinions. Same could be true of combat. You have to take that chance and find out. Sometimes you'll make a change and ask yourself why you didn't switch sooner. Other times you'll switch back. Neither is right or wrong but if you don't try it how will you ever know?

If anything you could get a toon on the test server. Try out a build you might be interested in. You don't have the expense of respeccing and gearing up. Just be wary of changes that are being tested and haven't gone live. Sometimes these can drastically change the differences.
