Im thinking about picking up a nice two-hander for when im offtank with nothing to tank. I want something with lots of spell damage (obviously), and a nice int bonus, preferably a sword for the human racial bonus.

As a tankadin I hate PvP (not much fun tickling others with autoattack) so no PvP rewards please :)

Didn't find any 2H swords or axes when I did a search, but I did come up with this:

Or if you have a lot of money you wanna blow and can find this, here's an epic one:

Ok, how did I forget about that one? lol, I even took that as the reward from that quest >.<

What I did was put in a minimum level of 70 when I did the search, so I guess it didn't come up cause quests rewards have no level requirement ... Teach me to do that >.>

I think the shadowmoon axe looks the best :D that thing looks massive! Could be a problem getting a group for it though :\

I'm honestly not sure about this but wouldn't the Oathkeeper be better than Torn-Heart? It has better dps and base stats....even if it doesn't quite measure up in regards to spell damage and crit. It looks ridiculous...but the thing hits like a sledgehammer.

Without all the strength, damage, and crit modifiers from Retribution I'm wondering if you wouldn't just be better off full-stacking SoV and then spamming JoV which would probably still be better with a sword-and-board on. Any want to confirm/deny/math this out?

I Guess so Gaudion. At the moment I can think of 3 possiblities for me -

Continuum Blade & Board - 161 spell damage (enchanted) and 41.4 white dps
Kings defender & Board - 40 spell damage (enchanted) and 87.5 white dps
Oathkeeper - 70 spell damage (enchanted) and 93.3 white dps

Of course I could maybe pickup a spell shield to up spell damage when sporting a 1-hander. I guess the key question is, when not tanking (so no reflective damage and maybe not so many consecrations) the percentage of your damage from spellpower obviously goes down, but how much by? Is it enough that an increased white dps would actually make a difference?

You can have an entirely different set, that's what I was doing in kara when I wasn't tanking. The other tank would tank the trash and I would tank the bosses because I was uncrushable and he wasn't, but he had more spelldamage than I. When he was doing that, I usually stayed in my tanking gear on the offchance that something wrong happened, but if that wasn't very likely then I had a ret set on me that promoted all the ret stats. I also had a healing set on me in case I needed to heal.

Right, but again... without all those Retribution crit-focused talents, even with a full set of potentially Ret-tastic gear... would one not be better off gearing for spell damage instead and trying to DPS like a Holy Pally?

To each his own, you're not going to be a substantial dps either way. I just preferred smacking things with my big 2-hander. I use less water that way.
