Hi

From your guys point of view, what is best in arena/BG?

If you want to, please link builds and a bit of argumentation :)

I'll address this only because it is not covered in the FAQ (unless they updated it but I'm too lazy to check).

Survival is a lot more gear dependant than other specs, so for you (I'm assuming not very well geared up yet) I'd recommend marksman. The following spec is what I used in BGs:

Picked up some great PvP talents from marksmanship, as well as giving me a ton of AP to deal with, and I get the extra health from survival.

Can you please explain why you say this Aethien?

I've played BM spec from 1-70, and PVP'ed a lot with the same spec (41/5/15).
I did try to go MM once and ended up tanking a beating with that spec. I just can't do anything without Bestial Wrath... I cant handle being CC'ed at all and the Trinket is not enough.

I'm not trying to say anything bad here, all I want to know is how you do it? because then I would like to try the same and see how it goes.

I'm a bit tired of BM spec and would love something new and interesting.

Thank you in advance.

In Arena (and pvp in general) its burst damage that counts, along with being able to survive burst damage.
PvP-gear is also aimed for that (lots of crit, stamina and resillience)

MM has Silencing shot wich is pretty awesome for PvP because it can stop heals etc.
MM also has a lot of AP bonuses through talents so they hit hard. (barrage and imp. barrage also help with big shots)
And 3rd, MM has acces to imp. wingclip, survivalist and Surefooted along with a reduced trap resistance with SV as secondary tree while BM has to go 20 in MM for Mortal shots, imp. concussive and lethal shots.

0/41/20 has quite a lot of good things for PvP.

I can see how this could work...

So if some1 fear loop/hamstring/Poison you, you should hope for the best? Trinket is not going to work for that kind of attack. Scatter shot can get a melee class of your for awhile, but intercept/sprint is the counter for that.

I have a 800ms most of the time, because I'm from South-Africa and play on the EU servers (we dont have our own). So you think in my situation that Silencing shot will help a lot with my lag and all?

I will try that build a bit and see how it goes. I can see that there is a lot of "Burst Damage" potential as I also have the Vengeful Gladiator Gloves for the extra 5% Damage from Multi shot (do they stac with the talent?)

One more question. Do Powerful Earthstorm Diamond (5% snare/root resist) ability stack with Surefootedness?

Thanks for the feed back...

800ms is a problem yeah... most i have exepting spikes is 200-250...
Normal is 100ms.

And i think both the multishot and the surefooted stack.

Hmmm... If I was able to participate in season 3, I would REALLY want to take a break from my 0/41/20 to give some variation of 0/30/31 a try. I was thinking of:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=cZVVwoEzZcbhrpcMhiz

It actually scales pretty well with 3/3 vindictive and 5/5 vengeful. It's really the rings, back and neck that put the build in the AP hole-- I doubt that those pieces can be traded out with survival-friendly alternatives since they are SOOOO good for pvp, but I could be wrong. I'd still be biased toward 0/41/20 since 4 silences every 2 minutes > 1 wyvern, but it would be worth experimenting with, at least.

I am mainly doing BG's now with the typical pre raid SV build. I am thinking of trying this out, http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=cZE0ioVzhZcu0htsMhVzh it is a hybrid build that I think brings the best of both SV and MM.

Obviously there is no need for buffing your traps as they are 10 secs no matter what in PVP. I lose out on Imp Barrage, some AP and Silencio shot. I gain LR, WS (which I'm thinking 12 secs is better than the 3 of Silencio) and more crit and agi. I could drop the 3 points in Expose Weakness and put it into Ranged spec, but I thought I'd keep that in case I do instances or something of that nature.

Let me know if I'm completely idiotic or if this may be viale in BG's or Arena.
