Hey, everybody, I just wanted to ask a couple of questions on the subject of CC in instances with your Succy.

1. Because PvE does not suffer from the Dimishing Returns, can you seduce forever?
2. When you are seducing, do you like to use a searing pain or so to get the mob to focus you so it has farther to run and doesn't insta-kill your succy?

Thanks for all the help in advance.

Please don't flame the warlock newb. :D

EDIT: I can't spell seduce. :D

I don't know about the first one, but if you can (easier with pally tanks and many will focus on doing this when they pull with the shield) have the tank draw aggro that way if the seduce fails or breaks early or something it goes after the guy with all the fur/shiny plate and health and not you Smiley: grin

If the tank doesn't and/or it's causing problems send them a tell, it probably hasn't even occurred to them. Course they'll have to move away in some cases for TClap/Swipe/Consecrate but they should be used to and aware of that anyway.

No problem - just note that if they don't get why it's necessary from your tell, some patient explaining of the fragility of your succy (and you!) may be required.

It won't be forever, but you can certainly re-seduce a target until the rest of your team gets around to taking care of it.

The object is to never draw aggro to yourself when you are grouped. Keep hate confined to the tank. This is especially true if you are standing next to the healer. If he heals you when you draw aggro there is a good chance that he will end up taking the hate and die. That will cause a wipe.

You can seduce until your succubus is OOM.
If you are deep enough in demo tree to have Mana Feed that can practically be forever.

Isn't there a default chance for seduce to be resisted? If that chance > 0 then no you can't possible chain-seduce forever. If that chance = 0 then you can seduce until your succy goes OOM, as mentioned.

This is the way I do it. Target your mob, tank pulls, pop a curse of shadows on(helps with the resist) and seduce. If the tank doesn't have agro on it apply a searing pain right before first seduce breaks and seduce again. This keeps it off the healer and your succubus. However, if it a melee this will require some running around on your part to get enough distance so the mob doesn't catch up with you before another seduce is applied. If it's resisted, death-coil and re-seduce. After about 4 seduces(very rarely goes that long) another searing pain may be needed or the healer will pull agro back. Make sure your succubus is not standing around a mob that can do aoe.

Seduce in PVE doesn't suffer from diminishing returns. Your succubus' mana is pretty much the only thing that will stop it. Usually the seduce is the first CC'd target to go after (second if there's a sap) due to its fragile nature so mana shouldn't be a problem unless it keeps breaking. I usually keep her on passive even after my target dies so she can regain full mana before the next pull, if you have mana-feed let her attack, but only at your command. Always keep her on passive.

With Curse of Shadows I never had resist.
Casting it is a good way to pull a mob too (if you just take care your tank doesnt build any aggro on your target).
I always watch out to cast CoS at the same moment my tank shoots to pull or if he charges about half way before he hits his target. Same with Distracting Shot I use to pull when I trap on my hunter.

For reseducing you need something bit tougher if you want to maintain aggro on yourself, they usually go for the healer after 2-3 seduces so Searing Pain works great there.

What I find most annoying is the fact I have to jump around a lot to keep distance between myself and seduced mob that can buy me time to reseduce if it breaks earlier.

Edited to say Ccbutch beat me for a second here :p
