Fire Mage farming Primal Fire!Follow

Are there any mobs that drop motes of fire that aren't immune to fire magic? I know that Muck Spawns in Nagrand drop motes of water and aren't immune to frost magic.

Just wondered as it would make life a hell of a lot easier while grinding the mats for the Spellfire Set.

Farm primal waters and then sell them.

I did primal airs, but same idea. You could also just do dailies and buy them... I can make about 100g in an hour by doing dailies which because of competition and other problems I don't usually get 5 primals in an hour.

Yeah I figured on grinding the Primal Airs and selling them. Primal Water prices have suddenly dropped loads on my server.

How do you get the dailies? I am neutral with Nethwing, but am right in thinking you need the 5k riding skill?

Thanks.

Well, you still have Arcane Magic....

But one thing I found, there can be some quicker ways to get the mats you need other than just farming the primals. Try doing this; Run the daily quests (I tend to skip the heroic one, I'm just impatient and finding a good group is a pain), and just use that money to either A) Buy the Spellcloth or B) Buy the Mats. This way, you just have to grind your primal fires and manas once every four days to get it, which shouldn't take too long.

On top of that, it might be possible to find someone that's in your guild to work out an exchange of services. Perhaps someone needs Primal Airs, well, you can get those no problem, and he has no problem doing Primal Fire. There you go.

You can also just pay the cost to respec into Frost, light them up, get what you need, and respec to Fire. It would certainly make it easier to do.

Well the netherwing dailies do require the 5k riding skill. Although you could do the O'grila and Skettis dailies (I believe there are up to 8 if you do them all in one day) between those two places. They do not require the epic flying mount, but do have a pre-req quest. I am at work so I do not have my bookmarked dailies guide, but I'm sure if you googled 'World of Warcraft Dailies Guide' you would get a ton of hits.

side note, do not try to make the whole lot of spellcloth on your own.

The time you spend waiting for cooldown can be used to farm more gold which can be used to buy ready made spellcloth to use. Check your AH, there should be spellcloth on the market.

Mostly its being bought up by people trying to make BoE epics. Nothing stopping you from getting the complete set of spellfire and increasing your farming speed.

Had the same thing when farming water elementals for my shadoweave set as a frost mage.

4 ideas;

1 - respec to farm if you're going to do it intensively over a few days. For farming frost has the benefit of being more mana retentive and defensive anyway

2 - use frost/ arcane magic anyway and farm. You won't one hit kills things but it gets more dps than "immune" :p

3 - Take up mining. You can get loads of fire motes from fel iron deposits and you could sell the ores etc on the AH

4 - Just farm other primals and sell them. Then use the money to buy fires. I was never too much a fan of this way as I tend to keep a stock of all primals for the cloth cooldowns but each to their own

I'd just use arcane blast on fire elementals and put on Fire Ward. Freeze them and ice lance too. You can farm pretty well this way

Another way is to level your fishing and catch lots of motes of water in Nagrand and sell the primal water to buy the other primals you need. I have have fished up to 7 or 8 primals in a couple of hours along with the useful fish you can catch in pools. Plus you usually get scrolls, fel iron ore, knothide leather scraps and netherweave cloth while you are at it.
