I remember the time we were doing Wizard of Oz opera event and our Prot Pally tanked the entire event by himself with no CC. It is Karazhan though, its too the point that when I go in their to earn badges or help gear up peoples alts I can heal myself for more than the mobs can hit me so I can tank trash if need be.

How well geared is the Pally in that vid? Could you tank all 5 of them with mostly blues and some purples thrown in?

I would say it depends on your healer what you can tank. But I doubt it's a good idea.

I was curious so I looked her up:

Mostly Kara epics and Heroic stuff, still with a few blues though. I gotta say "LAWL MONGOOSE" though on her weapon, and man, that music in the vid sucks >.<

Have thought about tanking Moroes with no CC myself, just never actually asked to do it :) That makes me want to try though, hehe. The only thing that scared me about it is what about when you get Gouged.

Thing is you have so many people on you that one of them will probably break the gouge as soon as it is applied.

It's fully possible to aoe tank the whole encounter, I've seen the strategy mentioned on WoWWiki. It just takes either great gear on the healers with decent gear on the tank or vice-versa (or obviously great gear on both). This way your dps and healers arent spreading themselves thin trying to keep this add or that add ccd while the healers are constantly trying to keep those ccers alive as well as the tank.

Not a foolproof way to do it, however. If there's that effing Shadow Priest in the adds, you can kiss your mana goodbye.

Well.. with 5 people beating on you you're going to be healed constantly, so not necessarily. Besides, with that strategy you kill all the adds first then Moroes, so the first kill would probably be the SP.

Look at the video again, she was at full mana for nearly the entire fight. Towards the end it look like she was spamming Hammer of Wrath or something. With the amount of mana your getting, I can see anything happening.

That's quite true actually. O_o

I've just had the bad experience as a healer to have shacklers who tend to forget to reapply Shackles. I'd get Mana Burned for about 3/4 of my mana and I'd be nearly dead.

But yeah, with everyone killing her I guess there'd be at least one person who'd have the brilliant idea to interrupt her MB. ;)

I actually didn't check the video, and since the Shadow Priest isn't always present that's why I initially said it was not always a good alternative way to tank Moroes, rather than just a silly idea as a whole. (Which I guess it is, since you'll most likely have the CC anyway, but it's interesting and shows the power of Pally tanks)

Now is that more or less efficient than CC though? Cause my group takes about the same amount of time.

I think it would be more effecient cause you can burn them down quicker by FFing one target at a time.

Efficient and faster are two different things, IMO. Because of how much mana the healers would have to burn, I'd say it's inefficient on them(then again, they only have one target to heal instead of 2-3...not counting Garrote, of course). But as far as time spent DPSing and whatnot, yeah, that would be more efficient, and less risky if the healers can keep the tank up.

It would also be kinda fun to stack a group of a paladin tank, healers, and nothing else but warlocks spamming Seed of Corruption on Moroes to burn down the adds.

Not for efficiency, just for fun, though.

True, didn't think of that as I've always tanked him with all the CC crap going on, thus never having Gouge broken :)
