Outland QuestionFollow

My Ret/Holy Pally is fairly close to lvl 58 and I want to start tanking end game. So I was looking through the stickies and couldn't find my answer.

My question is, when I go to Outland should I respec to Prot and start collecting tanking gear and such... or should I just continue leveling with Ret/Holy Build and switch to Prot when I get to lvl 70.

I know the best answer is to do what I want, but is it worth to start collecting tanking gear and doing instances along the way? Also, should I go with Aldor or Scyer? I checked the comparison on WoWWiki, but I couldn't make my mind up, so I came to you guys.

Thanks in advance

Well when I was leveling my paladin I switched to my 70 spec at 58 just so I could start gearing myself over, and teaching myself how to quest/grind/instance as that spec so by the time I hit 70 I was already good to go. Ret does level faster, so keep that in mind, but I don't have a problem with you switching early. As far as aldor/scryer its honestly better to pick that based off your professions more than your class/spec.

Thanks for answering so quickly.

My professions are herbalism/alchemy, but I didn't see much alch recipes.

I'm going to switch to Prot when I get to 58 to "train" myself to use the AoE grind and tanking.

Thanks for the tip Dilbrt

There is ONE scryer alc recipie, and there are no aldor ones. So everything else equal, go scryer.

Also think of your respeccing question this way. You can respec Prot once you hit 58, and then gather up some prot gear from the quests that you get until 60, and then you can instance your way up to 70 and not do any quests. Levelling will be much slower this way, but then again you can also save your quests for when you're 70 and then do them all to get heaps of gold instead of the normal gold/exp mix.
