Curator downFollow

After my guilds friday nights awsome kara run, that night we managed to down the huntsman, animal boss, moros and the maiden.

Now we had all been really happy because we had never managed that before.. whats even better is that we one shotted every boss.

tonight we went back in without a clue on what to do, no one in our party had any experience beyond what we had done the night before. we decided to give the opera event a shot. low and behold we got the romeo and julian thing.

it took us a while to down the lady boss but we eventually did it. she kept healing and we did not know how to stop it.

then of course the dude was easy to bring down.. then we got the both of them.

we had no clue what to do but over the course of the fight we figured out that we should seperate them. and kill her first then him second.

In the end we downed em without a single death. a very long fight. but very fun

Then we had the curator fight.. we wiped once because we did not have an offtank on the adds. then we looked up some info and took another shot at him. HOLY CRAP is that a long fight. i cannot belive it but we actually managed to down the curator.

all and all we had an awsome time in kara this week and made some real strides as a guild.

aside from the story i wanted to ask a question. where should we go next. and aside from the prince. what is the hardest boss?

next in line are illhoof->aran->spite->chess->prince

however you can choose either one before chess.
difficulty kinda depends on how your raid looks

a warlock is nice to have on illhoof
physical damage is nice on aran also classes that can interrupt helps alot
chess is considered free loot, close to impossible to fail+ u cant die :)
netherspite can be hard until youve had some practice
never found prince to be very hard, altho bad luck can mess it up for even the best guilds

aran is a fun fight but can be frustrating :) also if you kill him you can teleport up to his room from the main entrence, another reason to try to get him down early.

imo the order of difficulty would be however i suspect that differs alot depending on who you ask.

chess->prince->illhoof<->aran->spite->nightbane

Now that we have the curator down.. do we need to down any other bosses before the chess event? also is the chess event hard. i have heard it is an easy epic.

You can actually go right to the chess even from Curator. You have to pass up some bosses, but it's possible to go back. My guild did that last night. Just be careful, if you take too long, you'll get respawns.

and it's easy if you know what you're doing. Read up on it, make sure that everyone can see their pet bar (even non-pet classes) so they can control their piece, and have fun. I've heard that it can technically be done with 2-3 people.

Chess is a joke, but it cannot be done with two people anymore since the event got buffed a little (The opposing king spawns some minions now and then, while this is not a problem for a full group, it'll likely overrun a two man team).
Our 1st chess event was actually done by a two man combo. We ran late on our raid and got respawn, so we called it a night. However a druid and a rogue did not want to give in that easy. They managed to get around the respawn and in their 2nd try they beat the chess event (and got of course crap loot from it).

I'd highly recommend to do Arran before. There is a lot of trash linked to him and you can shortcut to him by a portal if you have him down. For your first attempts on Arran bring 2-3 classes who can interrupt often (rogue, warrior, shaman) and 1 or 2 warlocks. You can do the fight without those classes, but it gets a lot harder.

After beating Arran you can reach every remaining boss with very few or no trash at all.

Prince of course has the best (and most) loot, so he would be an obvious pick. Illhof has some nice stuff and is rather simple.
For Nightbane you basically need a very well geared tank and good healers. After that the fight becomes a joke, before it is very hard.
Netherspite is a lot of fun, however there is a steep lurning curve as to how to control the three rays which would otherwise buff him to insane power.

like some has stated above, shade of aran might not be the easiest fight,
but he has a lot of trash linked to him that won't respawn if you kill him
and you also get to teloport to his room which means a lot of time saved from
running/clearing trash. if it's not the last night of the week, you should
do him to save a lot of time for your next raid and resist the urge to get
the free loot at chess, rather do that if you are facing a reset.

How many times did curator evocate?

I would say try shade for sure, as it's a port up to his room if you win, but don't be afraid to fight to chess alone for a few weeks if you're just not up to it. Shade is an idiot check, as well as testing your interrupts. A warlock or two makes shade and illhoof much much easier. Netherspite is also an idiot check.

Good luck, you'll end up hitting your head against a wall repeatedly when infernals landed on the tank every time for the 5th fight in a row.

Aran is simple once you know what to expect and how to handle interrupting. Nightbane is pretty simple too with a well geared tank and healers, we did it with 9 the first time he went down.

Illhoof will give you trouble if you don't know how to handle all his adds. Chess is a joke. I have done it about 5 times and still don't know what is going on. Our main healer just takes the king and our second healer takes a healer and the rest of us click buttons till its over.

Netherspite is a coordination fight, without good communication the fight will end in a wipe.

The prince is basically luck. We fought him a few weeks ago and the infernals dropped in the exact same spot 5 times in a row. One on the tank, one in the middle and then one on the casters. We weren't able to position because the healers couldn't get close enough to the tanks. Then last week he went down in 1 shot. Its a poorly designed fight imo.

I would start taking shots at the prince. We usually go Moroes, Opera, Curator, Chess, Prince. Then come back the next night for Attumen, Maiden, Aran, Illhoof, then NB/NS depending on time.

I have only killed the animal boss once. Loot is not good and they are just not worth the time it takes to get them to spawn imo.

Put a lucky charm on one ranged DPS. Have all the other ranged folks stay with this one person. When he moves, they move. This person needs to watch for Infernals, the rest just watch him and keep doing their job of DPS or healing.

I'd say go for Aran. Get one or two warlocks to banish the elementals, and otherwise bring the best firepower you can muster.

When i did him on my shammy, it was a cakefight. Dont move during Flame Wreath, MOVE during blizzard, interrupt his spells and save your Pots/healthstones for TEH MASSIVE PYROBLAZT!!!!

Btw, if you are BM, save your TBW for when he casts Polymorph. Could bring you higher on the dps ;)
