Alright, heres my dilemma. I love doing both PvP and PvE, but I used to be a tank, so I was decked out tanking gear. Since no one wants +def DPS, I decided to spec Arms and PvP for my DPS gear. So I'm wondering, will S1 Glad gear cut it in Kara for DPS? I plan on going Fury as soon as I can replace my tanking gear, since I've heard Fury DPS is better for Arms DPS.

Thank you for your time.

s1 arena should be fine, especially considering that most of the items offer greater stat bonuses than many of the drops in early kara.

yeah, the s1 gear is good enough for kara. kara was designed for the 'mostly' blue characters.

there's a couple trinkets and other gears in bm and stuff that you could have tanked for and rolled on as well. just be up front when the dps enters the party, "hey i'm tanking for a shot at rolling on the abacus." also, a lot of the level 68+ (soloable) quest reward gear would be just as good as, if not better than, pvp gear for pve purposes.

pvp gear isn't the best dps gear because a substantial amount of the stat budget will go towards stam and resilience. don't get me wrong, it's still loads better than tanking gear...

maybe an arms/prot build so you can do both is an option to consider.

by all means, pvp if you want to pvp... just don't go into it because you think it's the shortest route to getting raid ready :)

edit to add:
one bonus to going the pvp route is that once all that s1 gear does finally get upgraded... you'll at least have a set of starter pvp gear instead of a bag full of vendor trash.
