I have a 70 resto shaman and just got to 70 about a month ago. I did some instances and got some healing gear and did some pvp. I want to start getting serious with getting gear and eventually doing kara. I want to go elemental but I'm not sure what I should be doing.

Should I be getting ele gear from normal instances then start doing heroics or should I start doing heroics (if my gear is good enough) and get ele gear from heroics? Or should I be doing both? Its my first 70 so I'm not sure what I should be doing. I got an idea on what gear to be getting though.

If you are still specced resto and are geared enough to heal heroics, then by all means get into any instance group you can. There is a post on this page of the shaman forums with a list of ele gear you can look for to get ready for Kara.

Run the instances that gear drops in as resto, and don't worry about having anybody rolling on "your gear", cause it's all mail.

Good luck gearing up for ele.

I tried it on my shaman a while back and found gearing as ele much much more frustrating than gearing as resto.

Edit: Just checked your armory. You're not geared to heal heroics unless you go with a tank that outgears the instance, especially if they're a pally tank and you can focus on healing him.
