I used to use bongos2 for my action bars, then I decided to go back to the default UI.

I use bongos2 for action bars, and xperl for frames. Both are very easy to set up. Here is a link to a pic from a our web site dowing maiden; http://guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=106042&TabID=906968 you can see the frames and bars there. That is not my exact setup but it is very close. The frames are xperl, and the action bars are not bongos but they are almost exactly the same.

In bongos2 you can make quick keybinds from the bongos menu and it is easier than the wow key bind interface.

Hope this helped

Bartender3.. for the actionbars - solid and reliable with no bugs i've come accross and great auto-swapping of bars depending on stance/form/stealth makes less bars on screen needed ;)

Pitbull.. for the UnitFrames - not too memory/processor hungry, clean and simple with many nice configurable options easily setup through a right-click menu. Again, no major bugs i've come accross (unlike AGUnitFrames that i used to have).

I use Bongos for the action bar, and xPerl for the unit frame (it's popular, I guess), and FuBar for keeping track of my statistics and parking some of my add-ons.

Here's the most recent shot of my UI that I have. MY guild taking down maiden.

For my UI I use:

Action Bars - I've tried both and I really prefer Bongos2 over Bartender, I just think it is much more user friendly. To compliment Bongos2, I use CyCircled to give the buttons a more pleasing look.

Unit Frames - I like to use PitBull as I think the frames look very nice and the add on allows for very easy configuration of them. The frames even come with a built in threat meter, I never use this though because I swear by Omen.

Mini Map - I use SimpleMiniMap to clean up a lot of the unused buttons and give it a new look.

I also use FuBar, but I use it as a dump for my other add ons instead of using it to tracking statistics.

I'd post a link to a screen shot of my current UI, but I am posting from work as I usually do and don't have any screen shots here. I might post one up when I get home.

Question: Does anyone know what addon changes the cooldown timer on your buttons from the clockwise fading shaded area to a number value? I've seen it in a few screen shots on this site and have never been able to find it. Thanks in advance if you know.

Actionbars: Bartender3 or CT_Barmod depending on character. Bartender3 seems like it doesn't want to change actionbars on my Warrior when I change stances, and CT_Barmod doesn't seem like wanting to change bars on my Druid depending on Stealth/Cat/Bearform. On my Rogue, CT_Barmod also seems to ***** up at times.

Unitframes: Mostly use Perl_Classic. X-Perl used to be a staple, but I find Perl-Classic to be more... clean.

Castbar mod: Quartz. There is no substitute. It gives me a very nice castbar, with Swingtimer, Autoshot timer, stacked Crafting bars and all kinds of nifty little features, all packed into one slim little package that doesn't intrude anywhere. Also use Natur Enemycastbar for those delightful little timers.

Threatmeter: Omen, after KTM failed to follow the times.

Various other addons: Raidtracker for DKP allocation, Titanbars for easy information access, Deadlyboss mods, Bigwigs/Smallwigs, RPHelper for fun chat messages in combat, CT Raid Assist, and various other CT mods. ArcHUD at times, on my PvP ventures.

There's probably several I haven't mentioned yet, but these are the essential ones.

Raid: oRA2 is what I use, though only because it is way more lightweight than CT_RA.

Threat Meter: Omen>KTM

Damage Meter: Recount>SW Stats>Damage Meter

Unit Frames: I use Pitbull w/ Mobinfo2, your choice though.

Boss Mods: BigWigs/Deadly both have features other ones don't have, but BigWigs has a 5 Man AddOn too.

Action Bars: Bongos, just because Bartender doesn't have the same keybinding stuff, but bartender is more lightweight (OmniCC is pretty nice too, it puts the cooldown right onto the buttons)

I use Quartz as an autoshot timer, aswell as Elkano's BuffBars, and Bagnon.

There's one that comes with Cosmos that works... okay. It just messes up the standard IU. For some reason, if you use the standard UI and CoolDown Count that comes with cosmos, the pet bar doesn't position correctly when your pet is summoned while in combat. It would be so bad if it was visible, but it positions BEHIND the other bars so you can't see it at all.

I stopped using it when I found OmniCC. I believe that it works fine with a stand UI, but I started using it at the same time as Bongos, so I'm not 100% sure.

What are some addons to make hunter skills a lil easier. Like a mod that casts Aspect Of The Hawk and Track X when you res.
Feed pet (or an explanation of how to use that one feed pet add on)
Aspect add-on (one that puts them on a pally bar or in a drop down)
Gear swaper, Titan's doesnt work. (So you can go from riding gear to Fighting gear to naked to Dressing room outfit (no tabard or shirt))

Gearswapper: Itemrack. I use it on my Druid to organize my four different sets without having to manually change every last piece of equippable item. For just getting nekkid before a suicide jump to get faster out of Karazhan: zHuntermod.

Aspect/Trap/Petskill bars: zHuntermod. Gives you customizable bar solutions, and even an autoshot timer. Also a Strip button for gettin' nekkid before a gruesome death. Doesn't really work as well with Feign Death anymore, so make sure you manually take off as much as you can if you manage to get out of combat for a split second.

For recasting aspects/tracking/skills/selfbuff upon ress, I don't think there is a single addon out there that will do it for ya. Count yourself lucky that you are playing a Hunter though. Play a Feral Druid and then complain when ressing. "MotW, Thorns, OoC... damn. Not enough mana. Drink... OoC, Regrowth, Rejuv... Damnit! Again out of mana.. drink..." and so on.

As for feeding my pet and so on? I've never needed a macro or addon for it. There's limits to how bloody lazy I have to be. I already have the single easiest job in a raid, with almost no stress at all on me. I can pretty much sit back and relax during any situation. Getting an addon to feed my pet seems... superfluous...

First thing I would do is try and download the most recent version from this site. If that doesn't work, I feel like (it's been a little while) I might have had to edit a few lines from "Bongos" to "Bongos2" in one of the files that came with it, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding the instructions for that online right now. If I find them I'll be sure to post them in this thread for you.

ProjectMidnight, thanks for the OmniCC link. That looks like exactly what I've been looking for. I'll have to download that when I get home from work today.

Just found the site with the instructions to make CyCircled and Bongos2 compatible:

Re cyCircled and Bongos2 not playing nice, you can update the cyCircled plugin yourself very easily to make it work with Bongos2.

Here's how you do it, I will refer to line numbers in the file:

open ...\Interface\Addons\cyCircled\plugins\Bongos.lua with text editor (wordpad).

_MAKE A BACKUP OF THE FILE_ save it as Bongos.lua.bak or something incase you make a mistake.

Go to line 1. Change
local addonName = "Bongos"
to
local addonName = "Bongos2"

Go to line 69. Change
table.insert(self.elements["Main"].elements, format("BActionButton%d", i))
to
table.insert(self.elements["Main"].elements, format("BongosActionButton%d", i))

Go to line 81. Change
table.insert(self.elements["Class"].elements, format("BClassButton%d", i))
to
table.insert(self.elements["Class"].elements, format("BongosClassButton%d", i))

cyCircled will now work with Bongos2.

This information was found on this thread on the OBoards, scroll down to 106.
