Armory posted below. On my S1 chest - I had socketed 3 of the +3 hit +3 AGI but switched to all +8 Resilience (24 total...) I'm not raiding - mainly focusing on BG for gear and soon our real Arena team will start up.

Was this a poor decision? I am still learning the math and best socketing plans. Thanks in advance.

Yes, and no.

Depends on your setup to be honest.

In my current setups for 2v2 and 3v3, I am mainly free to roam without getting focus fired, having a priest or mage on your team instantly makes u invisible, I don't even think I need to stealth sometimes...

However, say you have a druid in your team, well, you will be getting targeted more since the druid won't be popping out until you get hit a couple, so resilience is important then.

I have a mixture of resilience and hit rating (and for some reason crit, ignore that) in my yellow sockets.

Resilience isn't a bad thing, you could've done worse.

Review the situation and act accordingly.

I saw that I needed more attack power as I was the main damage dealer, so I decided to socket all my red sockets with attack power gems.

OK, just went through the armory so here are my ideas for what to do...

First off, replace those weapons. Get 2x [wowitem=28312]Gladiator's Shanker[/wowitem].

For your spec, get rid of imp ss, get 2x dodge instead, unless of course you think you will be using ss sometimes in arena, but I always preferred dodge with my mutilate build.

Get rid of the 1 point in opportunity and give it to DW specialization.

IMP sprint > endurance. Swap them 2 around.

Why do you have imp. backstab? NO no no, never use backstab with mutilate spec...

2/2 murder 0/3 imp backstab

No fleet footed? you don't use a healer? You don't get kited?

No quick recovery, no master poisoner?

Here is what I would think of a mutilate build...link

It is lacking expose armor, but tried to keep it true to what you took.

Thank you for the info - I'll test out a few diff. setups. As for the build - I am waiting to get the S1 Swords and switch over to combat. I didn't read any of the stickies or ask any advice when I respecced to mutilate, and didn't want to spend the gold to fix it. I will probably be back in here later this week to get help making my combat build correct the first time!

Thanks,

Go maces....no seriously go maces.

Swords better for PvE Maces better for PvP IMO.

I'm just gonna hijack this thread slightly with something involving gems.

At what point should you start seriously gemming gear and not getting cheap ones? I'm saving money for my flying mounts but I'm still working on gearing up for Kara at the same time.

So should I wait til I get my epic flying mount? SHould I wait til I start getting Kara gear?

The green gems have slightly lower stats then the blue gems, and cost a lot less.

I got the 60 badge reward boots, and sadly enough, socketed them with green gems since I didn't want to spend 110g at the time for 2 blue gems. Cost me around 7g total...

If your guild has a breeze through kara(as mine does) then the slight increase in damage to you will not make the difference. Get the green gems and save that money...

My rule of thumb is that if it isn't easily replaceable with a quest or 5-man normal blue or lower drop, then I'll throw in blue gems. So if you're trying to socket Kara gear and don't expect to replace it before those raid epics, I'd use blue gems.

Edit: By 'blue' there I'm referring to quality, just to clarify.

Alright, that sounds reasonable. THough I do want to mention no one in my guild has ever touched Kara, so would the extra little bit help enough to matter?
