Does anyone know of a good addon that spams 'My trap has been resisted by <mobname>' in the chatlog when you get a trap resist? I need something that automatically displays resists without me stopping to type it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Í've got a macro myself but then you still have to press a button.

I dont know if there is an addon that shows it though, but something that but i'd love something that gives a warning in /yell and /party.

Also, a blue flash (like the omen threatwarning) would be awesome because sometimes you can miss a trap breaking.

I also dont know if a trap breaking shows up in the combatlog, because if that doesnt it'll be impossible to track.

Macro:
/y ***Trap is Broken/Resisted!***
/p ***Trap is Broken/Resisted!***

Ya, we all know about those build with intimidate, wyvern sting, AND scatter shot, aswell as using readiness in a SV build that will do decent damage, and wearing BL past Mag.

Actually, most of the skills he listed can easily be incorporated into one single specc. Readiness would be the only superfluous talent in your average Fiveman/Heroic build, and my own build that works well in raids incorporate all the listed skills except Readiness. Oh, and Beastlord.

Wyvern sting and scatter shot together will work, but not with intimidate (if thats what you meant by some), how do you have enough talent points for them all, you'd only have enough for 2. In a raid I wouldn't have wyvern sting or scatter shot in my spec if I was SV, unless I really needed an extra cc, in which case most builds go for ss, but I would rather have an extra point in TotH than in an extra cc late in the game.

EDIT: 20/20/30 needed to reach each tier before int/ss/wyv respectively

Yup. I have found my own DPS to drop a little bit too much after regaining Wyvern, Scatter and reduced Trap CD. It was far more fun in instances, and having some "fun" pulls in Karazhan when we are just trying out retarded shit for shits and giggles. Still, in Zul'Aman and Tempest Keep / SSC I keep getting lower on the damage meters compared to where I used to be. I'll probably go back to 5/20/36 instead for pure Raid DPS/EW.

Scatter, Wyvern and Trap cooldown is so enormously useful in five-mans. And with daily Heroics I actually get to use them once in a while. It's just disheartening to drop that far on SW Stats.

jup, IaotH is an estimated 5-6% dmg increase, losing that is something you will definately notice.

You could ofcourse also go for 0/20/41 with 5 points in MT, but i dont know how well MT holds up against IaotH and if there is a change in that when you get better geared.

Ive been looking around and I cant seem to find any trap resist notification addons. The closest thing i found was Big Brother, which only spams notifications of who broke CC. Hopefully I'll be able to find something.

Then check your combat log next time you trap to see if there is any notification of traps being broken/resisted.

I found an addon called auto whiner that seems to do the trick.

Can you give some detailed info on what it does and how it works?

Scratch Auto Whiner.

Its SUPPOSED to give /p, /raid or /rw notifications when various effects are resisted, or when the targets are immune. It works with taunts, sap, growl, other crap ... but not traps. In addition it doesnt seem to work unless youre in a raid. Buggy addon at best; Back to the drawing board.

too bad.
So then again, can you check if it says anything in your combatlog when a trap breaks? (and resisted)
If that is so, maybe we can find someone on these boards to make an addon ;)
Because there has to be at least 1 person who knows how to write addons on here somewhere.

Took me a day to actually get a trap resist. Ironic, when i actually WANT to see one i cant get it.

There IS a message in the chat log actually. I cant link the screen shot I took for some reason though. It simply says 'Freezing Trap III's Freezing Trap Effect was resisted by the Storming Wind-Ripper'.

In that case, it should be possible to make an addon that gives a warning.
At the very least for resists, maybe also for broken traps.

(Dont have an active account for the next ~10 days because i'm still waiting on new PC parts to build my pc)

You can do it with SCT, although it'll squeal when _any_ Hunter's trap is resisted according to that message (i.e. it's not "Your freezing trap", it's "Freezing Trap III's Freezing Trap is".)

Open up your SCT folder and go to the SCT_Event_Config.lua and open it up. Scroll down a bit and you'll see something like...

[1] = {name="Clearcast!", search="You gain Clearcast", r=256/256, g=256/256, b=0/256, class={"Mage","Shaman","Druid"}},

And more events after that. Go to the bottom of the list (13 is the last one on mine, adjust the number as needed) and copy and paste this in.

[14] = {name="Trap Resist!", search="Freezing Trap III's Freezing Trap Effect was resisted(.*)", r=128/256, g=128/256, b=256/256, frame=SCT.MSG},

You can adjust the color of the message by editing the RGB values. This one should show up as Green iirc.

This depends on the combat text provided being accurate; if it's not, it'll have to be modified, but that should work.

thats a neat solution, although it would be nicer to make an addon for it if someone can, because this is easy to ***** up.

And i'd really love to have a blue flash (think Omen warning when you pass X% of tanks threat) whenever a/your trap is resisted/broken along with a /p and /y warning.

SCT only shows internal warnings doesn't it? I was looking for something that notified everyone ELSE when A trap was resisted. If I get a trap resist, I'm typically the first one to know. Other group members, not so much.
