Vindication for Prot? And Ruen SucksFollow

#1 Dec 07 2007 at 8:39 AM Rating: Good
nothing to see here, ima noob.

i was wondering why i never see any builds with Vindication in mind for tanking.

It seems like it would be a very powerful tool for a Prot in the very late game content like raids.

i know right now i have it for my Ret, and even in the very inconsistant way PvP unfolds, i manage to have it up permanent on most people i fight.

So that means that a Prot pally can consistantly keep a 15% all stat debuff up 99% of the fight. unless im missing something.

15% less STR should be 15% less AP also, would make the Tank take much less damage.
15% less Agi should be 15% less avoidence, would make the melee dps do far more.
now the Above will more then likely not work out so perfectly/generously depending how blizzard stated the MOB.
but if all the dps waited the 10-15 sec for the first proc, not only would you have done 15% damage without using an ounce of DPS's mana, due to the 15% stam hit, but you also have a 10-15 sec head start on threat which lets them hit all the harder once they actually dig in.

now im no where near this point in the game so i have no real first hand exp. but it does seem usefull and wanted to hear anyone else's opinions about it.

Comeon are you serious? You've been on these boards forever and this has been talked about several times. I'm disappointed in you Ruen *shakes head*

Most (if not all) enemies in raids are immune to Vindication.

It's ok, I'll forgive you this time... mostly cause your avatar makes me chuckle a little when I see it.

To be honest I watch a couple of palla forums and haven't seen this discussed to often. I'm a little curious about this myself; the basic tankadin build in 2.3 always has 3 spare points at the end which can be put on a variety of non essential talents.

At the moment I have my last 3 on improved crusador aura (for the +3 crit chance to the entire raid), but have had Pursuit of justice (for the 2% chance for a spell to miss me), and have considered precision for the increased hit chance. Vindication surely ranks with these talents, and I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has used it endgame.

Did you even read my post?

VINDICATION DOESN'T WORK ON MOST (if not all) RAID MOBS

I also don't know how you get 3 spare points post 2.3 in a tankadin build. I have -3 spare points so that I have to sacrifice something else depending on the role.

For the spare 3 points, look at my current build (in sig). I have covered all the essential tanking talents and find I have 3 points left over (which I have in improved crusador aura)....

I dunno why you call "Pursuit of Justice" "Imp. Crusader Aura", it doesn't stack with Crusader Aura.

Your build is just one of a couple builds that could have been chosen. Those 3 points could have been put in precision or you could have grabbed imp. judgement, all of which I consider to be maybe not essential but recommended. However, it's impossible to grab all of the recommended ones, thats why I said I had -3 points, I need about 3 more points (actually more like.... 5 or 6) to get all the talents I would recommend for a tank. Now, when making my build, once I hit 61 points I gotta look around and see which points are marginally better than others to optimize the role I am trying to achieve, be it Main Tanking, Off Tanking, or Heroic/Instance tanking.

I don't think the EU armoury has updated for a while (mine certainly hasn't), which is why it is showing Pursuit of Justice instead of Imp Crusador Aura, as well as a load of old gear....

The thing is that there IS no Improved Crusader Aura. Unless WoWEu has different talents then we Americans do ...

I'll Take "Improved Seal of the Crusader" for $500.

As of last week, Void Reaver is NOT immune to Vindication. It's not worth taking as a talent because of that, but it is funny as hell.

They're not immune to the effect. It just serves no purpose; boss mobs don't have any stats (or relevant stats), and reducing their STR or STA has no impact on their AP or HP pools.
