How best to Solo as a Feral Druid?Follow

#1 Dec 07 2007 at 7:39 AM Rating: Decent
Greetings again all,

I'm currently having some issues when soloing with my Feral Druid. I'm only level 12, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about pulling a mob. Ever since I've picked up Bear form I'll just run up to a mob and kill it, then move onto the next. Is this the best method? Or should I use a ranged spell them Bear form when the mob gets close? I know this strategy will change once I get Cat form, but I'm curious to know the most effective way to solo when Bear form is the only option.

Thanks for the help!

Nope. Bear form DPS sucks, that'd take moons. And if there's multiple mobs you're more likely to pull the whole group with your own presence in their midst, you'll have better luck peeling outliers away from the group with a damage spell.

Yup. Root them from max range to stick them in one place, pop Moonfire on them, blast away with Wrath until they approach you, refresh Moonfire before shifting into bear form to finish the fight melee. If there's more than one of them, or if they're likely to be a tough fight for some other reason, pop a Rejuvenation and Nature's Grasp on yourself before popping into bear form.

P.S. Sidenote that really isn't one...I just leveled an alt to 20, and did it as balance for variety. In doing so I came to believe that speccing balance is good for the run from 11 to 20. Nature's Grasp is handy all the TIME at those low levels, and a .5 second faster wrath busts out more DPS in the above scenario, etc. My plan is to level as balance all the way for continued variety, but I think optimal leveling would be to sticking with balance until 24 (?) when I can simultaneously grab Feral Swiftness in the feral tree and train some of the first good cat form skills. All Just $.02 though.

When I lvled my Druid, I did as Balance untill I get Cat Form. Then I respecced (1G, if not wrong) and whent Feral for cat. If you do this way, your 1~20 will be a breeze. If you do not, you may run in trouble sometimes.
