I have yet to see, in my guild so not saying they dont' exist, a DPS feral druid and to be honest I don't really think they would have a place. I say this not because I don't think they are good, but there are just too many other classes who DPS and can't do anything else (Rogue, Mage, Hunter, Warlock come to mind) which leaves no room for a feral DPS druid simply because if specced and geared right druids make awesome tanks or awesome healers, both of which are in shorter supply than DPS.
I think feral druids become less attractive/common in DPS slots in parties not because of how common and "restricted" the DPS classes are, but because they AREN'T as restricted in terms of crowd control. They are really DPS+CC whereas we are just DPS. I can crank out as much damage as most comparably equipped DPS classes, and I take opportunities to DPS in an instance when they come along, but I don't actively seek them out because I know that when
I'm tanking I'd much rather see one of those "pure DPS" classes in my party than a fellow feral druid because of crowd control. Hell, even if I'm doing DPS I hope I'm the only CC-less DPSer.
That said, what's nice about feral is that you can tank for parties and still have wicked damage output for soloing and PvP.
