Next step for gear?Follow

Tonight my guild group downed the huntsman and the animal boss and the maiden and moros all in a two hour run.

Better yet i got some new bracers, then afterwards i ran heroic mech and got the handguards of the steady, Also i took some advice from the folks on this forum and got the stalkers helm of second sight. my armory link will show all this.

However i do have a few questions on the gear i have. and the gear i should be aiming to get. First i would like to ask a question, this is a what is better question.

First off are the bracers: what is better?

Ebon netherscale bracers
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29517

Or

Stalker war bands
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28454

Next come the gloves:

Handguards of the steady
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32076

Or

Merciless Gladiator's Chain Gauntlets
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31961

Then finally

beast lord helm
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28275

Or

stalkers helm of second sight
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31106

so among these items what should i aim to use the most.. also what should i aim to replace? i know my shoulders and leggings should be replaced. but im unaware of a good option.

Any help would be great.

Bracers: Stalker's bands.
They have agility wich scales better and a bit better balanced stats.

Gloves: merciless gloves, although they have offstats they are pretty neat.

last one is really easy, although some people might disagree i'd say BL without a second of thought.
Simply because of the meta-gem giving you 12 agi and 3% increased crit damage.
And that scales very well with buffs and improved gear.

Bindings of Lightning Reflexes seem to be the best bracers i can find, until BT/Hyjal, someone correct me if I'm wrong, and as long as theres a guild raiding BT on your server, you could probably get these. The badge reward leather wrists are really nice too, if you want to wear leather.

Hands, I say Beast Lord Handguards, they seem to be similar to Handguards of the Steady, and only the badge gloves are better than those pre-Kara, and if you get the Beast Lord shoulders (which IMO are the best shoulders pre-Kara also), you get the 2 piece set bonus.

Go for Stalker's. BL has int and a meta socket, Stalker's has Mp5 (more than BL socket bonus), more AG, more AP, and more sockets, and if you want the set bonus, just get BL hands and shoulders.

EDIT: Arm worked right after I posted, I see that you have BL shoulders and legs, so anythign that I said about set bonus, don't listen to.

BL: -- Stalker
45 agi 55
21 sta 12
22 int 8
50 ap- 60
2 -mp5 4
(sockets with +8agi and +12 agi/3%critdmg)
so from Stalker to BL is -10 agi, +9 sta, +14 int, -10 ap, -2Mp5, +3% critdmg.

So you say that 20 ap, 0.25% crit and 2 Mp5 < 90hp, 210mp and 3% critdmg.

Without the critdmg i´d agree with you, now i dont.
Simply because critdamage scales so stupidly good.
at 20% crit that bonus gives 3% extra damage to 1 in 5 shots so 3 x 0.2 = 0.6% dps increase.
that equals what ~0.6% crit would do (assuming that 1% crit equals 1% dps increase wich is roughly correct).
So it is a decision between ~0.35% dps increase and 20 ap.

At 30% crit (wich is very achievable in a raid, and thats what were talking about) it gives 3% dmg to 3 in 10 shots so:
3 x 0.3 = 0.9% dps increase.

And the better your gear gets, the better that gem gets.
Or in other words: Meta-gems rock.
