Aldor or Scryer?Follow

#1 Dec 05 2007 at 10:21 AM Rating: Decent
I realise this question has been asked by a prot pally further down the page but im not prot.

So im having trouble deciding if i should choose aldor or scryer for my paladin. At the moment im a pvp focused ret paladin with engineering. However i could eventualy become a healadin but still in a pvp focused role.

But lets just pretend im gonna stick with Ret for now, what side should i choose?

Doesn't matter. Anything you can get from rewards can be replaced. The only thing that sorta matters are crafting recipes and that you should just figure out for yourself.

Honestly, just decide if you'd rather kill demons(Aldor) or Blood Elfs (Scryers) to grind up your rep.

I agree. Jack is correct. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter much.

However, Aldor does offer a pretty nice chestplate for a up and coming tankadin. It should hold a prot-pally over pretty well until he can get better. This doesn't apply to you...I'm just saying.

It's an ok chestplate, but the Jade-Skull Breastplate you can get in the Mechanar is better, so like I said earlier, there are some rewards that may be good, but you can find something better so I don't think it's worth it to base the decision off of something you are going to replace later anyway.

If I had to do it over again, I would have chosen Aldor over scryers for two reasons: It's easier for me to kill demons, and the shoulder enchant is a little better for a tank.

I said it was a nice chest plate to "hold you over till you get better". You have to have the gear to get the gear.

Scryer hands down for tanking pallies.

The inscription for the defense rating and dodge rating to shoulder items is great to have, that aldor chest piece is good for an up and coming pallie perhaps but that is easily replaced as Jack said. The shoulder inscription is great however no matter how many times you replace your gear... plus by the time you grind exalted you should have enough runes for it anyway.

I wouldn't say that, having the +dodge early shoulders from Aldor helped me a quite a lot (and the chestpiece did hold me over for quite a while until that stupid bint dropped the chest piece) and as far as the blue shoulder inscription goes?

By that point I had *too much* defense and was really looking for avoidance. I would far rather have the +15 dodge/+10 def shoulders than the +10dodge/+15def ones.

I do think the faction comes down to a personal choice and a lot of factors and I don't think it's hands down Scryers for tanking paladins at all.

Okay, but what seems to be the more beneficial enchant to get on shoulders for a healadin? I haven't chosen mine yet, they both seem cool I just can't decide on what one exactly. Any ideas? Pros? Cons? One has more healing but less mp/5, and other has more +heal, but less mp/5. Sure it'll depend on gear, but it's a choice some people make by Lv62 and by that point in time it is kind of hard to "know" what you'll need. I'd say the one with less mp/5 because it seems a lot of paladin plate has a ton of mp/5 on it, and you gain more +heal. But I could be cracked out in my assumption, partly due to the fact I just got off a night shift and I'm half asleep...whatever.

It just doesn't matter... Let's take one Aldor Pally and one Scryer Pally with the exact same gear, save for the shoulder enchant.

The Aldor's FoL will heal for a whopping 5-6 more health points.
The Scryer will regen 1/90th of a FoL every 5 seconds, or 1 free FoL every 7 minutes and a half.

Now if either Pally is jealous of the other, I think there's something wrong in their mind. The difference is so small for a healer, it shouldn't matter so much. I liked the added Mp5 cause I was lacking it when I started to gear. Now that I've got a decent set, it doesn't matter if I get a tad more +Heal or a tad more Mp5.

For what it's worth, I spent a lot of time analyzing the pros and cons of each faction before making my decision.

Then I chose Aldor because Blood Elves suck. Which is really the important thing here, tbh.
