Build Difference for BGs vs Arena?Follow

So I have a lvl 70 warlock and I'm looking to go back to affliction/ruin build from my current demonology/ruin build because I like all the instant cast spells affliction gives (It's difficult to get off a 2.5 second shadowbolt with three rogues on you). Anyway, my plan is to do BGs to fill up the rest of my slots with Epics(have 4 now) and then do Arenas to get upgrades. My plan is to do a 40/0/21 build for BGs and I'm wondering how well that will work in BGs and if the same build will do well in Arena. Any thoughts? I'll try to link the build I want and my armory profile as well.

Edit: So I can't seem to get the links to work right :(
Thank you,

I go 43/7/11 for BGs. I like having Demonic Embrace and Imp HS for the BGs, and Demonic Embrace will be part of my Arena build when I work that out.

It really mostly depends on your playstyle, for BGs, I really liked having the Felguard, but I couldn't make a multi-purpose BG/Framing/Instancing build so I stuck with 43/7/11. IMO, for BGs, Ruin is nice, but I generally just run around DoTing and maybe a few Searing Pains, so Ruin isn't really necesarry for my playstyle. Shadowburn however is, so enough in Destro for that. Demonic Embrace, IMO, should be a part of all builds, especially any PvP build. I'd also go for UA just because.

I've also considered using the SL/SL build in BGs, or a Soul Link/Ruin type of build. Really though, as I said, it comes down to playstyle. They are all viable builds, depending on how you like to play.

No real point in going up the affliction tree for dark pact if you're going to be nuking everything - I would suggest points in DE instead. The reason behind this is it appears that you are not going for survivability - but rather instant dot + ruin. As you said yourself, it'll be hard when you're fighting three rogues to pop off a SB - you'll have even less time if you are missing out on that +15% hp. With this build, unless you are running premades with dedicated healers, you'll generally die before finishing your mana pool, or have time to consume biscuits. I would therefore suggest putting as many points as possible (while retaining iHoT) into DE.

By missing out on UA (1/1) and SE (1/5), you don't create any "danger" for enemy healers to worry about. This takes away your ability to effectively solo healers that would normally just dispell your dots. In premade bgs, you'll generally have a group-dedicated healer, who *should* immediately dispell your SoC. A quick UA+SE prevents that, and lets your SoC pop. This does come at the expense of ruin, although imo it shines when you go fully destro pvp.
