I tamed one of the bright aqua-blue scorpids in a certain gap in barrens a few days, go.

been racking my brains to find a name for it.

Heres a few names.

Blueberry
Poisonberry.
Drpinchy
Gilgamesh
Seth
Girtab
Orionsbane
Nod
Mariachi
Dwaynedouglas
Dwaynejohnson
Dwayne
Scorpidking

Most are references to one thing or the other. Some obvious, some mythology, some to popular culture.

Personally I'd go with Jacques. Yes, that's right... Jacques. If he's aqua blue, he's kind of like Jacques Cousteau, nagivator of the deep.

Or, maybe Jacques Zisou (Bill Murray, from The Life Aquatic). I dunno, I just like it =P.

I considered DwayneJohnson when I had a scorpid. I also considered CanOpener and Mohel (a mohel is the guy that does the bris. If you don't know what that is, look it up. A really fun but generally obscure name.).

I always call my scorpids 'Frank' or 'Snippy'

Scorpid, huh? Well, I like so many others decided to jump on the bandwagon when that Scorpid Poison "exploit" existed. Went to Shadowmoon Valley to get me one of those darker ones, with the red spots that almost looked like bloodspatter. Definitely looked nice, but was sorely lacking in soloing skills.

So, I figured he wouldn't be used for anything but raids, and thus a name wasn't too important. His name was Venom. The the nerf hit us, and I released him to free up a stable slot for future pets instead.

Serket

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serket

Quote:
Egyptian mythology, Serket (also spelt Serket-hetyt, Selket, Selkis, Serkhet, Selchis, and Selkhit) was originally the deification of the scorpion.

Scorpion stings lead to paralysis, and Serket's name describes this, as it means (one who) tightens the throat.

Plus, anyone who played FFXI should get a laugh out of this name.

But then again I like funny or referential names. I have a cat named "Tommy" (after a Primus song "Tommy the Cat"), and a owl named "Bubo" (the golden owl in "Clash of the Titans"). Sadly no one has recognized where Bubo came from ; ;

Guess I'm showing my age here >.>

I very nearly named my owl Bubo if it makes you feel any better.

And I did name my Scorpid Serket. Although I got rid of him after a day.

I'm quite fond of using semi funny names for everything.

My BE hunters' ravagers' name is Listerfiend, to be joined by a snow leapord once I hit Winterspring named Pillowpants. If you don't get it, go watch Clerks 2 :D
