Another Gear Thread!Follow

I've just started playing again after a long absence and I don't know if the gear I had when I stopped is still the best. I'm now lvl 44 so what sort of armour/weapons should I have/be aiming for? I mainly solo in kitty form as well. I've read several threads about gear but they all seemed to be by lvl 70 bods. Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Since there isn't a lot of +attack power at those levels, I'd go for:

Strength
Stamina
Agility

Not necessarily in that order.

All I have to say is that you shouldn't worry too much about your gear. As long as you focus on the stats Mazra mentioned, you should do fine even with gear 10 levels older.

My Druid is around that level too (45 now) and I just realized yesterday that my gear was in the 30-36 range. I managed to update a few parts but if I was doing juuuuust fine. (Heck, managed to kill a 48 Rogue when I was 44 ^_^)

Tear 'em apart!

Since we're talking about gear I was wondering if any gear that offers some form of haste affects cat form at all. I would guess not but worth a post. Also was wondering if any trinkets that offer a temp boost in armor is effected by bonus in bear form?

From what I've read (and trust since I'm not a math guy) we gain little if any benefit from increased haste, as our lickey-split 1-second attack speed is just about as fast as it gets.

This one I know from personal observation...neither enchants nor 'on use' effects from trinkets benefit from the bear form bonus.

Not entirely true for this reason. Haste DOES affect attacks to bring them below the 1s mark. Why it's not great for druids is that haste only affects our white attacks. Most damage in cat comes from specials, particularily bleeds. White attacks making up only about 30% of our total damage. So the haste only causes an increase on that percentage. Other classes, such as contemporary rogues have around 50% of their damage from white attacks, giving a better pay off for the invested haste stat.

Or so sayeth the number crunchers posting on the ElitistJerk forum and WoWWiki site.

Oh yeah, I now remember that being the crux of why folks said it wasn't all that hot a stat for us...thanks for the correction/clarification.
