Best Lock build for RaidsFollow

So I just got a char on a PVP server (dunemaul), and My guild runs a LOT of Kara and some other stuff. Most of the other locks in the guild are alts of hunters, warriors and pallies. I like my lock as a main, and I will probably be the only lock in the instance with them. What does everyone recommend I go for regarding a build for end-game/ attunement?

Current build I'm working on is as follows

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?3502220512201115512010350000000000000000000505000010000000000000

I'd appreciate any help you could send my way.

Also, What gear should I look at for my human lock?

pretty decent specced, but since you are probably going to be the only lock you should max your utility by spending points into Malediction as well. This is a little altered spec:

the FSW set is great to start raiding with.

My Build

I'm just starting Karazhan and I roll with that. It's got good DPS, nice support (Improved Imp and Healthstones) and is a demon (sorry, I couldn't resist) in PvP with 5/5 Demonic Embrace and Improved Howl of Terror. I top damage charts in Heroics and am within 5% of the top in Karazhan.

(last night in Heroic Mechanar I had a 25% lead on the other DPS with a passive Imp out on Iron-Hand!)

I've changed it a bit since the last time I posted it, but this is what I am planning on using for Kara and BGs. I have another spec I'm going to switch to for Arena's though. This will give you all the DoTs, Malediction, Imp HS, Imp SB and Bane for your Raiding, while keeping Fel Concentration, iHoT, Demonic Embrace and Shadowburn for PvP. It's a pretty decent all around build I think.

Throw away malediction, at least until you start Gruul. I would suggest putting those points into Dark Pact - or you'll be as useless as a mage for boss fights. I would put the further two points into imp CoA depending on your spell damage (CoA vs CoD). I would also put that point from SE into suppression - although this shouldn't take the place of +spell hit (post 2.3 patch, SE no longer affects...etc). For kara, you're probably going to be one of three (at most) lock/mage/spriest - so unless you have absolutely horrible spell damage, you'll be more beneficial to your raid team.

Huh? You really need to regear.. you should easily be within 1% of the top damage dealer (unless your guild is farming kara with full t5+).

Oh yeah, I forgot Dark Pact. I'd just lose one from Suppression for it. Malediction is worth it, even if there are only 2 Fire/Frost Mages or one other Lock/SPriest. The extra damage the 2 mages or you and the other Shadow user will get from CoE/CoS is greater than what you can get with CoD/CoA. Unless there is only 1 Fire or Frost mage and no other Warlocks/SPriests, even in Kara, malediction is worth it.

My raiding schedule is limited (2 nights a week) and there are only a few upgrades I can think of outside of Karazhan. The only way I could up my gearing is by enchanting/socketing with blues, which I'm working on.

Also, I haven't had much practice with this build. I'll try it out again next time and see how it goes. (the last run I only got up to Attumen because of limited numbers and horrific lag)

Here's my two cents... Get Devastation, that 5% crit is way better than that Improved Imp or even Demonic Embrace. Having ISB up is what you are aiming for. For a pure raiding build drop ShadowBurn too.

Also drop UA and get Ruin. I know most people say that UA > Ruin below 20% crit but try it. I've calculated it. Even at a mere 12% crit Ruin is better than UA. It's true that a single UA deals more damage than a single SB but... Ruin will partly compensate for that and, the most important thing, if you choose to add UA in your cast sequence, you'll be casting 3 less SB per minute, thus reducing the time ISB is up. And it makes a huge difference, much more than the difference between UA and SB. Even at 17.5% crit with Ruin you should get a 7% dmg boost over UA in a boss fight.

You don't want to miss Destructive Reach. In many fights 30 yards is too short and the 10% threat reduction is great.

Forget Shadow Embrace, since last patch it's useless. And absolutely get Emp.Corruption. Finally for a pure raiding build Fel Concentration is not really needed.

Never understood why no one got improved curse of agony? U guys use recount? Go see what dot makes more damage then see if that talent is realy a waste?
A good aflicton raiding lok for me is then this:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?5502222012230105512010020000000000000000000505000510200000000000

If u like pvp too u need some adjustments there, but to raid I think u cant have beter in my opinion
Not to mention u need all threat reduction u can get, unless u doing crap damge

Gear does not make the better player. CoA is a crap DoT, it's total damage may be slightly more than CoD, but all those recasts use up GCDs which could have been used to shoot SBs, which proc ISP which improve all your damage. So yeah, while comparing CoA to CoD directly CoA may LOOK better, but comapring CoA+SB Spam to CoD+SB Spam and CoD makes more sense.

Also, Imp CoA is worthless, it adds 10% to the spell BEFORE your +Spell Dam is calculated. So it's not a huge increase.

No, and no. 12% crit, and you think ruin>UA? Please show how you calculated this. Every lock starting Kara is low on 2 vastly important stats: hit and crit. Hit>Crit, and by going affliction, can talent up to 10% more hit. 10%hit>5%crit, and until 20% crit, UA>Ruin.

/agree with priest. UA > ruin with less than ~ 20% crit. been proved plenty of times. it's also dependant on your hit rate

OMG, I saw this while I was at work and was rolling. Too bad the boss doesn't know what dps means. Thx for making my day :)
