I'm sword and dagger, but specced to be. I dropped points in both.
In my eyes, it's really a waste of 5 points that could be much better invested somewhere else (you don't have many points to waste in the Combat tree). You don't rock because you have points both in Swords and Daggers, you rock because Combat is the best grinding tree. But you would rock more if you had a better build (which means no points wasted in daggers).
Edit: just out of curiosity, I checked your
profile: just a few comments, just to show the high-ranked rogue in your guild did not give you optimal advice:
ASSASSINATION:
- 3/3 Imp Evisc isnot vital at your level; you could save those points right now to get more important talents,
COMBAT:
- I would have Imp Sprint in every build (pve and pvp alike),
- If pvp, think of Imp Kick,
- As I said before: 5/5 Dagger Spec = waste of 5 points,
- Blade Twisting = poor talent, waste of 2 points,
- EVERY Combat dagger should have 3/3 Agression, very important,
- I'd strongly recommend 2/2 Nerves of Steel if you intend to do any pvp,
- 5/5 Combat potency is great for energy management and
- Really you need Surprise Attack; such a waste to stop a few points shorts of your 41 point talent...
SUB:
- 2/5 Sub is a waste of talents (at least for pve)
- 2/5 Opportunity is a big mistake: it does not apply to the attack you use (Sinister Strike)! You can't use Mutilate, Ambush and Backstab with a sword in your main hand!
That would be a much better build for you (lvl 68).
My answer to the initial poster would be: Stick to swords in both hands (unless, maybe, until you've got your Swords spec, IF you find a dagger that has better dps and is slower than your OH sword). After lvl 35, you'll have 5/5 Sword spec so stick to swords.
