So generally when I go to Raids, if I'm not using a Flask of Pure Death, I use an Elixir of Major Shadow Power (+55 Shadow spell dmg iirc) and Elixir of Empowerment (Lowers your targets resistances to your spells by 30). My question is, how much +Spell Hit would that be the equivalent to? I'm currently at +162 Spell Hit from Items and 2/5 Suppression so I'm wondering how much closer that Elixir is bringing me to the SPell Hit cap.

it would bring you 0 points and exactly 0% closer to your hitcap.

Spellhit works vs. Basic resistchance of Mobs, whereas elixir of empowerment works vs. the Mobs resistance.

0. Elixir of Empowerment is equal to 30 spell penetration. In essence, worthless.

other than the odd few bosses that have a resistance beyond that of the CoS/CoE reduction (like 2) it's useless. draenic wisdom or major mage blood is the better choice.

All the guardian elixirs are pretty terrible for locks. Keep using flasks imo.
