Orc or undead rogue???Follow

#1 Dec 04 2007 at 5:28 AM Rating: Decent
Hi all

Im gonna make myself a PVP rogue so that I to can pop up from nowhere and kill people when there health is at 50%. Actually, I really like the freedom the rogue has of choosing when and where to fight.

Anyways, should I go orc or undead?

Undead rogues has Wotf, shadow resistance and canibalize.
Orc has stun resist, Blood fury and a unique look.

Orc's will have higher dps and stuneresist is always nice. Wotf is a life saver but only against warlocks and priests, and you also get a trinket for breaking fear.

My question is: Is Wotf worth giving up no1 dps and stunresist?

Thanks !

Undead for Wotf. But that will be choosing the same as 50% of the rest of the community.

Still Wotf is as OP as it gets.

That is for PvP...if PvE then, Orc might be a better choice.

I'd kill my mum to get WOTF (well... not really, but you get the meaning).

So definitely UD.

EA is incredible... absolutely incredible. I wasnt thinking about that when i rolled a gnome, but damn. I made a good choice, that racial is just insane.

My 2v2 partner is a human with perception and... really, it doesn't help that much.

It's like the rock, paper, scisor thing: he estimates how long the stealthers are going to take to reach us, then activates his perception. More often than not, they reach us before or after that. It's rarely a life saver, like WOTF clearly is.

I think that perception is less useful than the racials of all UD, gnomes and NE (maybe other races which I don't know so well).

Perception sucks more now that you can see peoples buffs. So if you see that eye, you know to stay the **** away.

Don't forget Intimidating Shout. A warrior can fear you too. WotF is utterly invaluable. Eating people is delicious. Being able to stay under water three times as long as incredibly handy while leveling. Horde side - Undead is the best race for a rogue. No debating it.

I like my Orc in PVP - but UD is better for pure OP.

I find that Perception comes in handy when I am going for the flag in WSG. I will go into the flag room stealthed, pop perception, scan the room and see that rogue in the corner, or that druid camping the flag and react accordingly. I see it as more of an offensive ability than a defensive.

My rogue was human and for arena it is invaluable I think on Alliance. If you go in and don't see anyone, I would walk and gauge about how far they were in the arena, then pop Perception almost guaranteeing me the opener on one of the people.

The only time I barely got openers or had a hard time was against a rogue with MoD, DT, AND the engi goggles. Other than that, I always got the opener, which is crucial in a 2dps setup, and less so with a healer.

WoTF is great but I just love being undead because of cannabalize. Any ADD or PVP kill is getting eaten as my ultimate sign of disdain for them.
I've messed around with Orcs, Trolls and BE rogues but I just can't get into them like I do the Undead Rogue. I've parked one at near 60 to level another one with a partner and I enjoy it just as much as leveling the first one.

What about a blood elf rogue, i think there ok, with there silencing raciel, sure there out classed in strenth and raciels when it comes to the orc and undead, but against a spell caster, the rogue gets another silencing move, not bag, but i think a undead rogue would be best, plus they look cool

UD.

BElf are nice and all, but being able to use the silencing move > having an extra silencing move if you get what I mean?

Kick is on a lower cooldown, has the same range (well ok it's a few yards shorter, but who's going to blink/escape only to within 8 yds honestly), and doesn't require any precursor skills (which are on their own, separate cooldown).

Undead wins.

Arcane Torrent doesn't require you to Mana Tap first to get the silencing effect (although sometimes I think it should be more effective vs. resists if you had more charges). Mana Tapping is just a way of draining a little extra mana off the caster and gives the perk of +10 energy/tap. The only time I use mana tap in arena is if the caster is out of range of other abilities.

Arcane Torrent has saved me much trouble vs. casters and BELFs just look GOOD to look at for hours upon hours of gaming, but Undead is the best PVP race for Horde, hands down.

I love my orc rogue. Rocking out 30% stun resist is pretty nice, but WotF is indeed better. Many an arena match I could have won if I could have hit WotF at a clutch point.

I think will of the forsaken is over hyped.

Warlocks and Priests are some of our best match up. Having WotF on top of everything else is like using a shotgun to kill a fly.

I'd go orc myself, if you ever want to do pve, you'll also love blood fury.
