Well, then we disagree, simple as that RPzip, but really, no reason to call me an idiot, was there now? And let me just add, your guild sucked if it was that bad to run with them.

Yeah, I'm in an absolutely terrible guild. How far did you get, exactly?

The old raids, even Naxx, are complete jokes in terms of difficulty compared to the new ones; a huge part of the Naxx-level difficulty was finding enough competent, dedicated people to complete it... but you could still _easily_ have members coasting through them. That's not impossible in the 25-mans either but it's a hell of a lot harder.

Except for a few fights, virtually everything pre-Naxx is a trivial tank and spank fight requiring people to not be complete morons and have decent gear, with the most noteable exception being C'thun. Most fights in Naxx were also complete jokes, for that matter.

I miss the old honor system, since it has been to easy to get gear now - it simply just doesn't give me the same satisfaction as it used to since now one can get s1 gear within a week or 2 farming AV wheras it took months in the old days with a slow progression.

S1 gear is the equivalent of Centurion at best in terms of the old BG system. *shrug*

And PvP balance being better? are you joking me somehow? seriously? ohh, forgot, MS button got easier to hit with TBC and the new melee weapons somehow hit harder than in the old days. J/K :P But take a look at which classes are the most represented in arenas and then come back and tell me that everything is balanced.

Two things;

1) PvP was balanced around having PvE gear, and they've ended that requirement now. Being in a BG full of HWL-geared people and getting torn a new one by people in T3 was ever so special. I was on the T3 side of that beatdown, but I know people who spent a lot of time working on that PvP gear only to get absolutely destroyed by people who worked on PvE. Going up against PvP guilds was a complete joke, going up against other guilds in T3 actually took a bit of effort, and that was a huge mistake on Blizzard's part.

2) The difference is there actually _is_ some balance now. Arenas are the focus of PvP and looking back on the pre-TBC PvP balancing, it's _always_ been balanced around 5v5 or similar teams. PuG vs. PuG BGs have always been and will always be dens of morons, but organized BGs have become more important.

The reason, incidentally, that it's usually quicker to go into AV is that the BG matching system fairly reliably places organized groups against other organized groups if there's one available. If you get into a 15-man group and go into AB, pretty much all you'll see is... other 15-man groups. Can't roll PuGs for quick honor anymore.
