What gear can I aquire that will allow me to increase my ranged attack speed as much as possible?

Black temple gear. Only thing that increases Haste rating. You could also get the Gruul trinket.

Go for haste rating. But really, I don't have any haste at all and my normal attack speed is 1.4, while my pet is usually at .99.

I already go through too many arrows, why do you want to go faster?

Aside from the BT gear and the Dragonspine Trophy, there is:
A quiver or ammo pouch;
Abacus of Violent Odds;
Kiss of the Spider;
Juju Flurry (not gear, and shares a cooldown with Beastial Wrath, so kind of annoying for Hunters);

There may well be others.

Or you could spec BM and get serpant's swiftness (think thats what its called). Gives a pretty nice speed boost.

If you are going any faster than 1.75 you are severely hurting your dps.
Why not 1.5? After all that is the casting time for SS.

Well with 1.75 that gives you time to account for human reaction/error and also incorporating different shots, mend pets, etc.

You are a hunter, power>speed.
#8REDACTED, Posted: Dec 04 2007 at 5:12 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) "If you go faster than 1.5 atk speed youre hurting your dps" I paraphrased so sue me. Youre wrong, actually. And I'd actually want to know what your norm dps is on a hunter. Is it above 600? No? Good. Ok now to continue. For the present My hunter can get an atk speed of around .7s with rapid fire hit, I got it to .5 with a sham friend and heroism. When you atk two times in one second, you dps does NOT suffer. I picked up Hurricane, for kicks and giggles. I'm a full BM hunter, in epics, I dont even have abacus of the violent odds. My dps spiked close to 1000 with rapid fire and JUST AUTOSHOT. I killed a 71 elite before rapid fire and heroism ran out. My dps with sunfury and my shot rotation, is in fact, higher when I blow my cooldowns, spiking to 1300 sometimes. But still, I fail to see how speed is bad. You can still use your shot rotation and mend pet and account. Why are you worried abotu ******** up your auto shot. Your SPELLS do the dmg Autoshot is a filler MY GOD. So Im sorry I actually know how to play my class. But when you can do 50% of raid dmg in kara in an endgame guild I think I have a right to call you stupid.

Hard to say. Whoever he is, he fails at post formatting. Not to mention fails to grasp the concept of introduction, especially considering the type of community this is. Ah well, my bet is that he's either had a major attitude adjustment or become perma sub-d within two weeks.

I do like how he uses Karazhan as an example, while going against the greatest theorycrafters and raiders on both Alla, TKAsomething and even the O-Boards.

Come on, i should get a rate up :P lol haha!

Is Hurricane like a levle 40 odd Bow? So if he's full epics (Kara) then why the hell get a level 40 bow? i know its fast but come on dude!

And its not even the quickest ranged weapon either....
Precisely Calibrated Boomstick is faster.

Also, isnt it Quickest attack speed? fastest attack speed looks kind of funny to me.
Then again, english isnt my first language.

Wow! 50% of raid dmg? With a lvl 48 bow? Man, you're 1337!! You have certainly earned the right to call everone of us mere mortals stupid!

Dumbass.

You may get huge spike damage with a .5 attack speed, but other hunters can continue to DPS while you're out buying more arrows.

For those who are doing the math...

1. Steady Shot is affected by haste. Meaning with a 15% quiver it has a 1.3 cast time and with a 15% quiver and Serpents Swiftness it's down to 1.09. Note that haste is multiplicative, not additive (15% faster means attack speed / 1.15, if you have serpent's swiftness it's attack speed / 1.15 / 1.2, or attack speed / 1.38).
2. In order to keep from clipping auto shots with steady shot, you need a 1.59 attack speed if BM, or a 1.8 attack speed if MM/SV, since auto-shot has a cast time of 0.5 seconds at the end of the casting period. This is assuming no lag and no human error. Adjust times as you need to. Converts to a 2.19+ (2.2+) weapon attack speed for BM and a 2.07+ (2.1+) weapon attack speed for SV*
3. There is a 1.5 second GCD that is NOT affected by haste, and does not affect auto-shot. This makes the Steady Shot only able to fire in 1.5 second intervals, even though you could fire one off in 1.09 seconds if specced BM.
3. In order to throw arcane shot into the rotation without clipping the second-next auto-shot (since it will delay the steady shot rotation by 1.5 seconds) you need a 2.3 attack speed when BM or 2.4 attack speed when MM/SV specced. This means a 3.174 base weapon attack speed for BM (no weapons that slow in game) or 2.76 base weapon attack speed for MM/SV (or 2.8+ attack speed).
4. In order to throw in multi-shot, you then need a 2.5 attack speed, so you can throw it in AFTER the GCD is up and still not clip auto-shot. That means 2.875 for MM/SV (not gonna count BM because it can't even fit arcane shot in), or a 2.9+ attack speed. Note that this does not factor in a steady-arcane-auto-steady-multi-auto rotation, but using arcane or multi shot on alternate cycles.
5. In order to do the rotation mentioned in 4, you would need a 2.65 attack speed, or 3.04 base weapon attack speed. In other words, you need the gladiator's heavy crossbow, the only weapon with a 3.1 attack speed.

As seen above, haste lowers the effectiveness of the shot rotations, which are largely based on the GCD and not clipping auto-shots, rather than on firing as fast as you can. So if you're attack speed is 0.9 without RF on, you wont have time to do any of the above shots except maybe arcane shot. Firing even multi would clip auto-shots.

Also, I did the math in another thread, if there's delay between steady and auto-shot (i.e. if you have a 2.2 attack speed as BM there would be 0.61 seconds when you're not working on a shot) there is minimal difference in overall DPS, if any.

So for a BM Steady/Auto you need a 2.2+ bow.
For an MM/SV Steady/Auto you need a 2.1+ bow.
For an MM/SV to add in arcane you need a 2.8+ bow.
For an MM/SV to add in multishot you need a 2.9+ bow.
For an MM/SV to have a simple steady cycle between a multi and an arcane cycle, you need the Gladiator's Heavy Crossbow.

*If you want to see my time tables I have them, but left them out for convenience.
