Hello all, thanks in advance for any advice or opinions. I've been drain-taking with my Succubus (all abilities off) for a while now but I just started using my Imp as a mana battery and enjoying that as well. I was thinking about respeccing myself instead of using UA I would stop the Afflict tree at Dark Pact and then go Destro to get Shadowburn. Is this a dumb idea? Both possibilities are linked below.

For generic drain-tanking, use the generic build you can find on these boards.

However, if you are finding yourself wishing for something else because you can see it directly benefiting your play style... Chances are, you don't generically drain tank.

My best advise would be to try out that build for a level or three. If you like it more, stick with it. We can only judge based upon ourselves with the information you gave. And our playstyles are probably different than yours.

So, my advice: Try it out!

(And report back, so others may see it and be intrigued!)

Definatly depends what you want to do.

First off your not at the top of any bracket, you're going to level again shortly, and as said above, we're not sure how you like to play.

For grinding, I assure you that UA will be more useful than Shadowburn especially in your next few levels -- Perhaps in OL you will find some more utility out of Shadowburn, who knows. Fact is I only tried it a for a bit and it definatly wasn't for grinding purposes.

SBurn is a tremendous amount of Burst (instant, at that) for a Warlock, so it's uses come primarily in PVP, IMHO. I will say that for BG and other organized PVP (5v5s/Large World PVP) IHoT will bring you more survivability - which is really all you need as an Affliction Warlock to kill something. 1/2 IHoT is worthless - like having 4/5 Corruption... it ruins the point. Maxing it, though, creates a spell of god-like PVP usage (since it can be used in conjuction with DC, Fears, Snare, ect.)

For your grind, do whatever keeps you entertained. The difference in DPS and DPM may be noticeable, it may not... it doesn't really matter because you will still be leveling fast as hell.

I at least recommend that if you do spec with your Shadowburn build you go back and finish up IHoT and probobly UA too. They're awesome spells.

BTW if I were you I'd drop 1 point out of Suppression and stick it into CoEx... it's another great spell for PVP or tough spots.
